It's free from the developer's official website for now.

Thank you! However, I would like to get a copy on Steam as well.

Considering the creator is having their game taken off the store by the decision of WB with no input from themselves, they might not have the control to do a sale.

Why would WB remove the game off of stores though? It doesn't cost anything to keep it on, unless it uses licensed music or something which doesn't seem to be the case?

It's part of their new direction to cut costs. More info here: https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/solo-indie-developer-claims-warner-bros-discovery-just-retired-one-of-their-games

They are just killing everything they can to get tax cuts, there is a massive list of stuff, most recent I heard is Roosterteeth (RWBY, Red Vs Blue, etc). Also seems to be ruining the value of the company last I checked.

WB Discovery have been nuking everything they own over the last few months for the tax credits.

Hell, found they even owned a New Zealand news company, getting shut down as well.

Yup, and it hasn't been doing the company favours. I admit I don't pay that much attention, but last I heard, their stock was not doing well. It is like the one in charge wants to destroy them.

Q: if I buy it now, will I still be able to play it after it dies?

Answer, yes. While a game can be pulled from being purchased in the store, it can't be removed from your library, you will own the game forever and be able to download it forever.

It is actually possible for publishers to directly revoke the license from your account. However, I'm not aware of that ever happening when a game is being removed from the store.
