Practicing Tekken feels like a chore
Here's my typical routine:

1. Play a few matches
2. Watch the replays
3. Keep pausing and taking screenshots of particular moves to remember their inputs
4. Go to practice mode, look at the screenshots, see the inputs and set the opponent to do them
5. Find a good punish/solution for each
6. Record a video of each, name each video after the input for later reference (because in 2 weeks I will already forget half ot it)
7. Copy the videos to an appropriate folder, there is one for every character
8. Continue grinding what I just learned to solidify muscle memory

I don't do it that often, only sometimes, which is why I'm still in red ranks. I can imagine strong players do this and much more on a regular basis.

But it just feels like such a chore sometimes. Today I spent most of my evening doing exactly that after fighting a Law player, and it just felt frustrating ultimately when thinking about how much time I just spent and how I could have spent it differently.

Tekken is a game that you can't properly learn by just playing, real improvement requires doing this sort of homeworks regularly, but I'll be honest, most of the time I simply don't enjoy it that much.

Its hard to remember everything.

i never do any of that, asking people to play me with x character works for me just fine.
just a bit slower than if i actually took stuff to the lab,but like you said, that is not enjoyable therefore im not doing it

moral of the story : you dont have to do that to improve and to get out of red ranks

This is because Tekken 7 has far too many characters. I really hope 8 doesn't repeat this mistake.

To avoid chore, u dont need to do that routine, tho actually that is good practice.

What im doing is playing rank match, mentally take note of one move that killed me and lab it. Yes, just one move per day and u will never get bored.

I dont even watch ingame replays anymore. For punishments, i just visit punishment training. I just watch my youtube uploaded matches, it's way more fun and i learn as i watch and relax. For me, analyzing replay is a waste of time.

I play casually and got to red ranks quite easily. I think you're over thinking this game lol. Just play it to have fun and you'll learn your character over time. All I did was go into training do all the moves in the movelist 2-3 times and the sample combos 2-3 times and I'm good to go.

It's because you made it a chore. Tekken may be a complex game, but not to the point where you need to do a frickin scientific research in order to learn something.
it doesnt feel like a chore if u love what ure doing. for me, things like perfect kbd whiff punish, ugandan forward dash into blocking rage art (bait), hayashida stepping, successfully doing a simple Nina's iws1 loop combo could make my day. I could live with small to medium mu knowledge gained from just playing and watching youtube a bit, no need to force urself making it like a chore; labbing should be fun.
myb add something fun between ur labbing session to reduce stress. just like recently I play Lili coz I like dew glide loop, so Id just do dew glide loop combo to relax, then back practicing her fundamental again. or do zen backdash as Jin. things like that
so yeah, focus on ur chars more than labbing other chars

The only thing you should be practising in training mode is:

Fast and safe moves of your character when in neutral or to apply offensive pressure.

Moves mixed with fast/safe/advantage on block to create setups for counter hits or to bait whiffs.

Moves to punish on block (use ones that come out at 14 frames or faster) or whiff.

Combos that you won't drop 95% of the time that are 55-60+ on damage with or without walls.

Basic movement cancels that will allow you to do all the above whether its from forward, forward, back or back, back, step or KBD spastic cancels. Also quick ducks that allow you access to whilst-standing moves.

Better spend time doing all the above rather than wasting time labbing certain moves from certain characters just to beat them. That way you'll be at least equipped to pick up and read patterns from your opponents habit and learn how to deal with their flow-charts and bullsh1t as you go along.

Also note that for most characters, out of 100 moves your character may have, only 10-15 are actually useful. Whereas the rest are either situational or just useless b0llocks. Usually the latter.

Btw, Anakin said in one of his vid that learning match ups is simple as just listing the top 5 moves of each char and knowing how to deal with it.
