[SPOILER] Anomalies
While playing through Oxenfree with a friend watching I managed to find all of the anomalies.

At all but two anomalies the message started with a military callsign (used from 1941-1956).

I kept a list of the anomalies, as follows:

89.9 Able 9 (A9)
91.5 Baker 1 (B1)
94.6 Charlie 6 (C6)
97.9 Dog 9 (D9)
99.9 Easy 3 (E3)
101.1 Fox 6 (F6)
103.5 George 3 (G3)
104.7 How 7 (H7)
106.7 Item 3 (I3)
102.3 Jig 3 (J3)

The other two are:

100.3 An eerie message about Alex being a part of an ethnic cleansing. (At least that is what I heard.)
105.1 Alex asking, "How many of you are there?"

I surmised the call signs and numbers could be turned into a phone number. The phone number you get is (916)-936-3733.

So, naturally, I called.

If you decide to do so as well you will receive a message from Google Voice asking for your name so it can connect you. Once you answer, you will be redirected to an answering machine that plays Oxenfree music. The sound is odd and distorted as though it were played underwater.

If anyone can figure out which track it is, I'd like to know.

Yeah, it sounds really distorted. It's the song played at the very beginning of the game when they're all on the boat talking.

Huh. My notes say that 102.3 is the Edwards Island genocide recruiting message (and starts with Jig 3), and 100.3 is a series of beeps that I think is morse code that I'm too rusty to interpert.

I was having trouble making out some of the JAN letters, which might just be down to my hearing, though I got A, B, C, E and G pretty clearly. Great work figuring out this part of it!

This is so strange. for 104.7 I very clearly had "L 7" and not "how 7".

I think Alex being part of the heritage is that she and her friends are the ones who are now the ignorant people, whose souls are to be forcefully removed to make space for destined holders. That was J3. That last part of the message- what is said in the highly distorted voice. What interests me about that message, if I were to guess, was possibly Anna, and Henry is the announcer-sounding guy:

"The island is famously named after Colonel Caleb Edwards for his glorious and triumphant slaughtering of countless families during one of the great ethnic cleansings of the 20th century. The forceful removal of an ignorant people to make space for destined holders is a time honored tradition in our still young country. And you will be a part of that heritage, Alex. Do not resist. It will be over soon. * This is abhorrent."

Incidentally, I've only noted three crewmember's names being mentioned, and then Anna, and William Marshall. My guess is that Alex wasn't possessed so much because the other three were chosen.

In the F6 message, it goes something like this: "Well, how do you know you're Bobby Deathbar? * I know who I am. And I know who you are. And nothing else makes a difference." The name doesn't make sense to me, and I'm almost certain I'm just not hearing it right. Could it be 'Bill' William Marshall, the park ranger, found hanging from a tree, presumably in 'Edwards Forest' (surely named after Colonel Caleb Edwards)?

D9's message... "A-Team-Oh Thresher Peterhoff Arizona" ??? Making no sense of this.

I think its actually Maggie Adler speaking in all these messages, asking the questions, except for the lady in G3, who I figure might be Bill's wife-to-be.

I heard that as Bobby Dunbar, though it might just be my hearing.

I can't make out the first one either but thresher and Arizona were submarines from WW2 and the peterhoff was and ironclad from the civil war. any clues as to what that means?
Gremlin [GWJ] Jan 25, 2016 @ 7:07am
The second USS Thresher was a nuclear submarine sunk in 1963, in mysterious circumstances. Probably a electrical failure that shut down the reactor.

The sinking of the USS Peterhoff in 1863 was caused by being mistaken for a blockade runner and rammed by a friendly ship.

There was a civil war USS Arazona, which was a merchant ship that sank after a fire. The WW2 USS Arazona was a battleship that sank during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

That's a reference to an actual event, the Bobby Dunbar kidnapping. This American Life did a whole episode on it awhile ago. I kind of jumped when I heard it, kind of out of left field. It's not a ghost story so I didn't get why they referenced it but when I looked it up the TAL episode is called "The Ghost of Bobby Dunbar". You can find it hear. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/352/The-Ghost-of-Bobby-Dunbar

1863 and 1963 exactly 100 years. The USS Arizona is a sunk but otherwise intact off Pearl Harbor. Its considered a War Grave. Even though its only a few feet underwater it still contains the bodies of many of its crew.

Had a thought. If anyone hasn't tried this, yet (since I no longer get Google Voice asking for my name), could you say your name is Alex when asked and see if it changes what you hear?

i litterally explain everything about the phone call in the other post, and no one is paying attention to it at all.

The voicemail says "maggie".

Maybe there needs to be some more categories in the forum.

The phone number is registered to Folsom, CA. Night School Studio is in Glendale, CA, which is six hours and 400 miles south of Folsom. Not sure how relevant that is, but it seems odd to me.

I agree with this.

I did a bit of researching gizoogling and came across two sunken ships that could resemble the first one:

USS Althea and SS Alpena

Although Althea sounds more likely, the Alpena has a far richer tragedy.

"At least 80 people died when the ship, also carrying a large cargo of apples, capsized in the middle of the lake. The ship was on a trip from Grand Haven, Michigan, to Chicago, Illinois, and was spotted at 8:00 am on October 16 in heavy seas. Some time later, probably due to a shift in the cargo on deck caused by the waves, it capsized and drifted northwest. On the 17th, debris including a piano came ashore in Holland, Michigan, while apples and wood debris were found at Saugatuck."
