If so, when you hit enter that should actually set it to 1440 x 900 instead of 1280 x 720.
Oh weird, it looks like this only happens in "Windowed" mode on the Retina display. That is very strange. I'll start looking into why, but if you go into full screen mode, drag it down to 1440 x 900 and then back up to 1280 x 720, and hit enter that should set it to 1440 x 900.
The bad one is - this bug is not your fault and you even are not able to fix it. This is Unity issue and looks like it appears only on the latest OSX and retina laptops.
I have similar problems on "Don't Starve", "Pillars of Eternity", "Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP", "Wasteland 2" and other Unity games.
The good news - there is one trick which allows partially fix this:
1. System Preferences
2. Display
3. Under the Display tab, select "Scaled" and slide it all the way to the right where it says "More Space"
4. Close System Preferences after scaled display has been applied and launch the game
The higher resolutions reappeared for me after the above steps. It's not ideal, as you'll probably have to switch back after unless you want to do some serious squinting. But it worked for me.
On my Macbook Pro 2012 i5 (OSX 10.11 El Capitan) with an Intel HD 4000 and 10gb of RAM so 1gb (or 1.5?) for the GFX, Oxenfree is super super slow/laggy, it's unplayable, even the text appears unbearably slow, as is the first fade in/scroll on the first environnement at launch. I tried lowering the resolution and disabling FXes, same thing.
Someone told me he had no problem playing it on his Mac with an Intel HD4000 a while ago... (El Capitan too.)
I tried to run it on a Macbook Air 2015 (Intel HD 6000-something) and it runs fine. (Except the first time i launched it i only had a black screen.)
Anything i can do?
Is there an update on the fix for Retina display? I am interested in purchasing the game, but only want to buy it if it's going to work on my MacBooPro.
Is there a fix and if not, how does one get a refund?
With Oxenfree on the Mac however, the controller does zilch. Is there anyway to get the controller working in Oxenfree om Mac? I would love to use it for the dialogs.
I had an issue with a black screen when launching the game on my Macbook pro, and the game would stop working even before reaching the title screen. I've found a little hack : when the game launches, just open Steam's hud (shift + tab) until the game loads the menu screen. I don't know if the game will crash again yet, but at least NOW I can play haha.
