controller is broken

I am using an Xbox one controller and the game has real issues with it. I've played a bit in the past and never had an issue. each time I press a button the game thinks i'm inputting from my mouse. So my mouse would show up, and would show the pause button as If i was using mouse and keyboard for a split second. this makes it so half the time my button presses don't register. I was really hoping somebody might know a fix for this as there is only one post before this that offers no solution

btw i tested this on my steam deck and it has the same exact issue, so it doesn't seem to be something with my computer but maybe my steam settings?

Forcing the Steam Linux Runtime under Proton compatibility settings fixed this for me on deck.

Had the same problem, deactivating steam-input fixed it though.

disabling steam input didn't work for me, but I just tried plugging in my controller directly via USB and I no longer have any issues. It seems like the game just doesn't like Bluetooth.

This kinda worked.
I checked my xBox controller and it was giving me issues using bluetooth but once I used a cable and use it on wired mode, the issue gets fixed.

I think This game has issues related to bluetooth.
Devs please fix this as the cable which I use is very small and controllers are meant to use wirelessly not wired.

It's busted on the Steam Deck as well. Unresponsive inputs in menus, and sometimes in-game. Wrong glyphs occasionally. Seems like it's trying to use KBM and gamepad simultaneously or something.

I just uploaded an MP4 file to service desk portal.

I can still play. But movement is difficult. So psyched about playing, but have to do day job in between moves. Where did you get the voice actor for Riley? Man, talk about a 3-pack-a-day smoker voice. Sexy, but frightening. And i have been the radio voiceover industry for 23 years. Oh well, back to work. Can't wait to find more...

I'm experiencing the same issue on all three of my controllers. Disabling Steam Overlay definitely helped, but didn't resolve the problem completely. I submitted a support ticket with a few more details.
