Oxenfree not working on Steam Deck

It's a little unfortunate, I was really looking forward to play this handheld, but I've tried loading it 5 times and nothing ever happens after the screen cuts to black when the boat lands in the very first 5 minutes. It just stays on black and the music keeps playing forever. Anyone else seeing this? OR anyone have success playing on steam deck?

Works out of the box for me. Try switching compatibility to Proton, perhaps that will help you. I did not need to do that but sometimes native Linux games don't work and you need to switch to the Windows version through Proton.
