Stuck in Addlers house after I Spy.

Playing Oxenfree on Ubuntu and have had a few issues with aspect ratio related bugs, such as things occuring off screen, or dialogue box options being off screen, but I'm not at a point where I can no longer get any further, due to a glitch that's apparently due to the size of the monitor I'm playing on. Basically once you've had the i-spy game and are supposed to head out the door with the others, you just get stuck in the doorway, and the camera never pans to the left, and you never move beyond that point no matter what you try. I read in this discussions board that the solution was to lower the resolution and then wait a few seconds for the camera to move. I've done just that and had no luck.
The big issue is that due to the rather poor way in which the game decides to save, every time I close it down to try again, or look up solutions, I have to start the whole, somewhat tedious (Upon 5th replay and beyond I would definetely say) sequence again, and I don't want to do that another time unless I know it's going to work. So...is there anything else I can do? Anything specific I need to do? It's really frustrating and supremely disapopinting that I can't beat the game for such a stupid reason, and I hope there's a work around or patch that can be done.
