Can't Get Non-Collectible Achievements
This game is filled with replay potential for completionists (like me) who must experience every bit of content in a game they find incredible.

Unfortunately for me, on a Steam Mac copy, I've only been able to unlock the collectible achievement (Adler letters and Ghost Stories) for some reason despite having played through the game twice now.

This is a nightmare for completionists (like me). According to Steam, I've already spent something like 16 hours on this.

I'm currently agonizing over what to do to try fixing this...

Continue timeline?

Start over? (uninstall and reinstall hoping achievements will somehow work when I redo everything?)

Help?

Can I ask what methods and achievements you've tried?

There's some specific things that will and won't trigger some of them.

Hey neptune, thanks for the response.

These are the achievements I believe I should've unlocked:

1. "The House is Clear" - I've completed the game twice now.

2. "It's a Me" - I've repeatedly jumped the chasm.

3. "Matchmaker" - Ren and Nona have gotten together on both of my play-throughs.

4. "New Beginnings" - I kept Jonas at a distance the first time but we bonded the second time.

5. "Benjamin Spanklin" - I've slapped Ren in Truth or Slap but can't trigger this achievement.

As far as I can tell from the various Achievement guides online, I should have these. "The House is Clear' is the most obvious one that I couldn't possibly have missed or failed to get given its trigger condition of simply passing the game once.

Since posting, I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game in hopes of somehow getting things to work but alas, no dice. :(

Odd! Yeah, all of those should have unlocked. Were you online on Steam when you played?

Only other thing I can say is to reach out to the Nightschoolers. You can probably find their e-mail in the FAQ of the discussions forum, or they’re usually quick to respond on social media such as Twitter. I recommend e-mail, because they will often ask for a copy of the game save to analyze.

Yeah, I was online, and some of these (like Benjamin Spanklin and It's a Me) were attempted over multiple sessions so it's unlikely I was momentarily and coincidentally disconnected from the internet on every instance.

Their official support link led to this forum so that's why I'm posting here. I'll try to find another way of reaching out. One thing that has me worried is that I can't find the game save on my Mac either despite following the instructions I could find. *weep*

Thanks again! :)

Their support e-mail is support@nightschoolstudio.com. I'm not sure what support link you're referring to but if you can send a copy of your save and a description of the problem I'm sure they'll look into it as soon as possible.

Wonder if you have to do this only first time you come to the chasm on your way to ren.

The other ones sounds weird. They all should unlock.

Nah. I got it way later in the game after backtracking through the area.
