Every comparison video I watched were washed out like this one for the Pc Deathinitive. I'm starting to believe there's a serious technical issue somewhere if not everyone sees the same game Oo
It's not locked at a particular framerate.
im wondering myself...maybe its a nvidia vs ati thing, idk...its weird...it really looks washed out in the 2 videoes i saw here, but mine is full of color and really defined....i dont get it...my system isnt the greatest either
i7 3770k

win7 x64 pro
playing in 4k on a 24inch monitor..look at my screenshots...thats how awesome everything looks...that ice monster looked fantastic.
I suspect a lot of people didn't adjust the darkness (gamma) setting when they did their videos/screenshots. The default setting in the Deathinitive Edition is pretty high up imo, so that would increase the "washed out" effect.
maybe thats it....idk...its so weird...lol
This is what the developer said regarding the contrast:
Less colorful than the original?
It's possible that the lighting might have changed in a few areas, but it's the same textures. We just took the original high rez textures we had stored away somewhere, and took the time to hook them up in the game. Nothing new was created on that front (I wish we had been able to do this for the original PC release, but alas fate conspired against THQ to make that not possible).
I know one thing people react to is the overall contrast level. The original game was VERY contrasty, to the point that many of the colors were getting crunched - at some point, instead of seeing the full gradiant of the color, it just got crunched to black. You lose a lot of information that way. When we updated the renderer, we implemented much better lighting equations, tone mapping, etc... The result is that you are seeing the full range of the colors. The side effect is that it appears to lose contrast. You may prefer more contrast - that's a personal taste thing - but overall I think the new look is more appealing in total.

it's not washed out it's a gamma setting ;) if you don't know what gamma settings is well google it.
+ PBR rendering is a bit different it's physicaly based to get a correct lighting so yeah the lighting is a bit different it's normal.
