Game breaking bug in "The Drenchfort" | Ball puzzle
Hey there,

just wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing the same bug as I do. When entering "The Drenchfort" you usually have to solve an easy puzzle by shooting down a magic ball from a statue with one of the bombs and your pistol. At least if I remember correctly... but since I played the original Darksiders II I am pretty sure the ball is missing here. Restarting the game did not fix this issue, so I can't do anything to progress further... Please also consider that this is a new save game I started with the Deathinitive Edition, so this can't be an issue of incompatible save files from the original game.

I made some screenshots of the situation for you to understand better:

And for your enjoyment: Some random graphic bug that I found in the same place where the ball puzzle is:

Hope this will get fixed since I don't want to start again from the beginning (even though I'm not so far in yet).

EDIT: Screenshots fixed.

Those links don't work, but I found the pics in your profile.

Ya, something odd is going on for you. I completed that area last night without issue.

I suggest verifying your game cache and updating your video driver to the latest one available. See if those help.

I just managed to complete that area earlier today, and I agree with the above poster. Something funky is going on there. Verify your Gamecache, and update your drivers. If those don't work, I dunno what is going on.

DId both, verify the game cache and update my video drivers. Both bugs are still there... Though while I believe the error with the ball is just bad luck with my save file I still think the bug with the weird floating texture is actually caused by the game. You can go check it yourself at the location of the mentioned puzzle. Stand at the door (which will only open with the balll) and look upwards into the left corner. You should easily manage to see it!

For the fix of my save file I'm gonna try to reinstall the original Darksiders II and proceed with my save file from the new version to a point where the door is open and the game is saved.

I don't believe the save files are backwards compatible, so don't be surprised if that doesn't work. But, I haven't checked myself, so don't take that as gospel.

Yep they aren't, just tried it. Got a fast connection only took me 5 minutes to reinstall so it's not a big loss of time though. Oh well guess I'll just wait some days till this might get fixed or just start over someday.

If someone may experience the same bug I guess it wouldn't be wrong to post my specs to see if it somehow relates to hardwaqre (though I don't believe that), so here they are:

Intel i5 3570k
Nvidia 970GTX
8GB Ram
Win 7 64 Bit
and running the game from a HDD

I went back there to take a look around, and indeed, that graphical issue you noted is present for me as well.

I never would have noticed it since the ball puzzle worked for me.

I'm rather curious why it isn't for you. I hope you (or someone) are able to figure it out!

So I started a new game and the ball bug is GONE (yay)! The weird texture is still there and I even found a new one:

Edit: As you may have noticed I also downloaded the beta anti-aliasing patch and it works good!

Damn I have this issue in game as well and can't be fixed! I thought I was the only one and i tried to the cache and driver thing. I also uninstalled this game and redownloaded and problem still exists. Is the only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix restarting my game? If so its complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I'm furious with the developers

Well I found no other way. I had to start a new game ;-( . That fixed it tho
I have the same issue... Whaaaiiii

Dunno but only a new game with a new save file did it for me :/

Edit: credit to my buddy Infinite098 for helping me with this.

I just got this bug myself and had to use Cheat Engine to bring the ball down. Contents of the CT file here if anybody else gets stuck with this bug. Change the VerticalPosition value to 470 and the ball will be where you want it.

I've tried this, loaded CE, pointed it at the DS2DE process, given it a file containing the above XML, and changed the VerticalPosition value to 470.

This did not change the position of the ball, it is still in the same place. Is it something I'm doing wrong in Cheat Engine?

Weird. Send me your save file, I can take a look. Never sent files before through Steam but you can send me a Dropbox link or something. PM me.

Edit:
In my screenshot above, the position of the ball is:
XPosition= -209.6411896
YPosition= -722.2067261
VerticalPosition= 463.8138123 (once it falls from 470 to the ground)

You can check to make sure the ball is in those exact coordinates, otherwise it might be off the map somewhere. This is true if you see the vertical position continuously decrease as the ball falls through the map.

Also make sure to back up your save just in case you lose your ball. Just tested this and it looks like the game will deallocate the ball if it falls too far through the map.
