Also original one is 6GB and new one 12GB
Im not sure, currently im downloading DAMN
That alone is a very large chunk of data to be downloaded.
There is no mechanical difference i believe. It is a remastered 1080p Version. The main purpose of it is reviving the DS community and begin making money for DS3 development. At least thats what i think, i might be wrong on that.
I will play the first ACT and compar it with the old one, because dear lord I LOVE THIS GAME I cant wait for Darksiders III
Hey GamerzZone1987. We did a lot of work on the remaster, and I outlined the engine changes specifically in another thread ("DS2 Engine Changes" - I'm new to this, is there a way to link to a thread).
If you want to ask in there, I'd be happy to answer any questions about the engine, or any other changes we did - design changes, lighting, etc...
The game is alot bigger because the textures are quite a bit bigger, and in any game they account for the majority of the download size.
Heres your link

The origninal darksiders 2 also had 1920x1080 resolution option (so that is not a new thing)
there are none new HD textures in this new version!
Almost every texture has been replaced with a higher rez version - in most case they are double the size. So 512 textures became 1024, and 1024 became 2048. For many of the characters there was even a bigger jump, often going from 512-2048.
I hope the devs contine to bring out patches though, as I did acctually have a crash on a boss fight earlier, I'll have to report back later and let them know if the problem persists
As for wether its worth the money to upgrade to D.E version is a different subject all together and I'd probably have to play a little more until I could give my opinion on that, I do try to not be as biased as I can but as I got D.E version for free my opinions are bound to be a little biased but overall I'm enjoying the new version dispite the odd hiccup here and there
I first typed a lot more paragraphs but deleted them. Very simple, deleting this version from my hard drive and keeping the old version of the game to play much like I did with the supposed "improved" version of Deus Ex Human Revolution.
Before deleting I also used a utility which smoothed out the stutter in the game and made gameplay smooth, thus not hurting my eyes. But came to conclusion all of this was a waste of time just to play an inferior version of the game.
Like EVERYONE on these forums, this is just my opinion.
So yeah its gonna be a hit and miss on this one for people.
