[FIX] for the crashes

hi everyone,


it seems maxing out shadows in the options menu cause crashes.
the thing is, once u have changed the shadows in-game to maximum, u really can not change it back as the game crashes before lets u change anything.
well, heres a fix;

1- first disable Steam Cloud for this game > right click on the game > Properties > Updates > Steam Cloud Sync
2- go to [default] C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(some numbers)\388410\remote and delete the file "options.dopt"
3- go to [default] C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Darksiders2\ and delete the file "options.dopt"

now, run the game and you would see it will run on a default 720p.
start the game, go to options, change the resolution and everything u like EXCEPT for Shadows. you can increase it, but DO NOT MAX IT OUT.

save the game, quit, run it again.
at this point you can re-enable the Steam Cloud. when u start the game, do not forget to "Upload" ur saved settings to Steam Cloud.

Fix works for me, I just set shadows to one notch under max.

However, I have another horrible bug. When exiting any of the options pages to get back into the game, it will freeze and I have to force close the game.

I'm having the same exact issue...very frustrating.

Hi !!

I had crashes over crashes and nothing worked for me (shadows & deleting opt. files etc)
then i thought the problem must be else where ...

so i changed the options in my AMD settings for DSII ...

i put the ''anti aliasing mode'' to - use application settings..
....same for ''anti isotropic filter''
and ''framerate target control'' to 60fps

+ my gpu is in standard settings overclocked ..
so i was wondering what happens if i give the mem&core clock fader (-100)

.... now the game runs for me \m/ :D \m/
..played 2-3 hours without any crash !
(before i was unable to play 5 min without freezing my whole pc)

.. im not shure what has cleaned the bug - but i think you guys can filter it out ^^

AMD HD 7700
8 GB RAM

im having the same freeze after closing menus. The shadow change didn't take effect after following the instructions. Tried deleting and reistalling multiple times and still no luck. :(

did you install any lauguage patch? my crashing problem is because of the patch which is not official
