Unfortunately, as with most games, mobile graphics solutions are limited, and the only answer for you may be to get a PC. There are a few minor things that you could try, such as updating graphics drivers, turning things down to low settings, and making sure that your toy is set to "High Performance" power options when plugged in (use your Windows Control Panel to set power options).

everything has been done as u said. but still sucks. u said ''to get a pc'' but if i can play bf4 with 50-55 fps in mid-high settings, every recent games can be playable. although ds2 is not a recent game.

I am not sure why but i find you need a really strong GPU for this game. I don't have any isuses with 980ti but you shouldn't need that to get great performance on this game.

Your mileage will vary with mobile GPUs - it depends on whether or not the company in question took the time to test some mobile GPUs. Most developers don't bother, because gamers aren't using laptops as their primary game playing systems. So while you might be able to sort of run Battlefield 4, you may not be able to run something like Darksiders - it all depends on the amount of testing that goes into the game's development.

If you're serious about gaming, you have to use a PC, and not a laptop - at least, until laptop manufacturers stop cutting corners.

Or you have more money than sense and get one with a desktop 980 card. Personally i would agree though. Desktop is so much more versatile and you don't need to keep updating processors. I still use an i7 930 from 2010 with a 980ti and it runs great. I just tested this game in 4k dsr and i get 60 fps and up on max settings. I much prefer 1440p though as it sits at over 100 fps It even goes upwards of 150 fps at times. I have gsync 144 hz screen in any case.
In saying all that though as this is really a console port it's probably just not optimised very well at all for PC. It does look really lovely at times though. I love the whole design aspect of this game. The horse is especially awesome.
Plus this version was free as i had all the dlc and other games so really can't complain as it is pretty awesome overall.

Maximum you will get through HDMI is 60 hz so 60 fps . You need display port to go higher.
HDMI was designed for 1080p 60 though you can force upto 1440p with nvidia drivers.

I don't think either of you is understanding the other - tazamiga is speaking about theoretical limits, not necessarily real-world performance. You're not going to get any more performance through HDMI than you would through your laptop screen. The chipset is still the same - it's not going to magically run faster through an HDMI cable. A GT 740M is simply low-end hardware. You say you can run Battlefield 4 at 50 FPS - judging from the 5 different benchmark sites I've seen, unless you're running it at 640*480 at low detail, that's pretty much physically impossible. That chipset can't even break a 2000 3DMark score. I hate to say it, but it's not enough to run this game.

u say? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1a72guq0P0 impossible nothing? gta v, fallout 4 i can play and u say, ''u cant play ''ds2 de'' right? benchmark sites are suck.

Really? You can play Fallout 4 and GTA V? That's pretty impressive, considering that YOU DON'T OWN EITHER OF THOSE GAMES. You can post all the meaningless YouTube videos you want, you can rant all you want, but the fact is you're below minimum spec. Period. At the end of the day, there is nothing that will change that. So, I bid you good day.

i hate ''u're below min. spec.'' guys. even if i had a gtx 980, one of them would come and say, ''ur system is low, its normal''. no help, moar blame to system.

Of course people will blame your system if you're having trouble - would you like them to blame you personally?

Laptops simply don't perform to spec - that's been a fact in the computer industry for so long, I was honestly surprised when Nvidia launched the 980m - the first laptop GPU to not completely suck. It's still terrible, but so much less terrible than every other laptop GPU.

If you had a GTX 980 - you'd probably have a steady 60 fps in this game. It's not an unrealistic goal. It's not impossible.

I have an AMD R9 390x 8GB edition, and I get 60 FPS. Of course I do, it's a desktop GPU. I got 60 FPS in Darksiders when I had an AMD R9 280x - again, of course I did.

My wife has an R7 280x, and it dips under 60 FPS sometimes. My brother has an Nvidia GTX 760, and he gets 60 FPS on this game, and of course he does - he way overblows the minimum requirements.

However, you're using a laptop version of a non-gaming card. The 740m is not a gamer card, and it's not a gaming system.

It should piss you off, and it definitely pisses me off, because these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who sell laptops act like they do everything a desktop does, and work just like a desktop, and they absolutely don't. It's a total crock pot brimming with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ - laptops are just expensive and portable. They're not good computers.

yeah i know. ofc laptop has much worse perfomance than dt. but what i tried to say, and i know my laptop is not a gaming laptop, ''but'', not bad as unplayable for ds. am i right? i gave example because of this. u can bench ur pc with some games right? they would probably be, crysis series, metro etc. hardware testing games. ds2 is not one of them. almost every pc must play this game. it has not even hardcore graphics. simply cartoon and not even cell shaded. worse than borderlands 1. i said, or calm myself to say, just a terribly sucks ported game.
