Is the shadow of death armor junk?

I just found it in the City of the Dead, and despite being super special with a description and stuff it has about 30 defense lower than all my other gear and only increases arcane critical and wrath. Am I missing something or is it really that bad?

You are missing the correct player build which this set augments; necromancer. For a pure caster build, this set works wonders. Until you get that Abyssal complete set, at least... In Deathinitive, IF you bother hunting secret, hidden and very secluded chests, you are rewarded with extra skill points instead of loot, so you can bolster your skill tree way further than in the original.

Still, armor sets are very few (Abyssal, Maker, Shadow of Death, Angel of Death, Crow), so you should cling to them, they don't occupy that much space in your inventory...
