What skill tree are you using (Necromancer or Harbinger)? What stats are you prioritzing in your gear? Absalom shouldn't be too hard to defeat unless you mismatched your stats and skills. Just need to dodge his vines. At three different points in the fight, he will fall to his knees and be impossible to attack. There'll be a button prompt instead that you need to press right next to him to advance the fight.

In that case, you want to go for high crit damage gear. if you don't have any health steal/health per crit stats on your scythe, put on Achidna's Fangs (they automatically give health steal to your scythe as well), and just attack him directly, making sure to dodge his vines.
