Why should i play this version?

Seriously, i've been on my Darksiders hype lately, i just finished going through the Warmastered edition since it was actually a good port and looked/ran amazingly well when compared to the OG DS1.

Now this?
WTF...

This looks worst than OG DS2 AND IT RUNS LIKE CRAP....
Seriously... i played the warmastered edition @ 4k with everything on ultra without a single dip below 60 frames.

I'm getting dips to 45 in the forest @ 1080p here....
The game looks colorless and dull when compared to the OG ds2 too.

Combine that with the fact i played DSII with SweetFX....

Why should i be playing this one instead of just booting up regular DS2 again?

Seriously, i'm looking for a reason here.
I'm already downloading it.

Asking rhetorical questions is something for winners.

1.) "OG" does not mean "original" it means "original gangster."

2.) They state they 'rebalanced' the game and tweaked the loot drops.

3.) If a mod existed for the original and made it look 'more colorful' or 'darker' (which is not the same as "better graphics"), then I'm sure a mod can be made for this version, too. The original did not come with that mod pre-installed, and I'm sure it was a while before it was made available after release. I'm also still on DS1 Warmastered, so I'll have to judge for myself after I beat that game... screenshots don't look bad, though.

EDIT: As the person above said, have you tried just tweaking the gamma to darken the game yet?

I did, it's a problem with the artstyle itself.
I found a way of making it look good, but it requires reshade, and i can't get that to work.

Yeah, I googled some images, and the rocks seem to have way different geometry and shading than before... however, that appears to be 'different' as opposed to worse in areas that feature a lot of barren rocks. As far as I could tell, the textures actually look a lot more detailed across the board.

Looks a million times better than the definitive edition standard imo. Best option would be definitive edition with a reshade preset.

I do agree it's a little bit over the top.
but it looks amazing at most areas.

If you wanna argue that DE looks worse, or at least different in a bad way, in terms of colors, fine. But this hobby reshade ♥♥♥♥ is the equivalent of capcom color palettes.
