Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition- game wont even try to start
Hello there!
I've got a big issue with the game, i mean... this game wont even try to boot up. It's weird to me, becouse i've never had problem like this before and i don't know what to do more. I even contacted with kaiko support, but they did nothing to me, i will describe some steps i've made already.
1. Reinstalled it,
2. Changed an "Beta" option
3. Installed all updates for my computer (directX, Visual C++, Nvidia update, Physx)
4. Tried "launch as administrator" thing,
5. And some more (i don't remember it right now)
And nothing happened. Game just DON'T DO ANYTHING, not a single error or something, nothing.
I've noticed that i don't have any folder of darksiders 2 launching, like i've got on darksiders 1 warmastered edition, i mean: c\User\MyName\AppData\Roaming\kaiko; thers nothing about darksiders 2, only about darksiders 1.
Specification: Windows 7 x64; 4 GB Ram; Nvidia GeForce GT 620M; Intel Core i5 3210M 2,50 GHz
Help me somehow! No one knows what it is! :(

Ummm...Have you tried running it directly from the folder, by right-clicking as an administrator? I don't know. That's the only thing I could think of. Worth a shot. I suppose.

Thanks for advice, but it won't do anything... It says: "The application has not been properly activated (0xc000007b)"

Have you tried re-verifying it through Steam to check? Usually, if there's a missing file, Steam would automatically download it. You could attempt on doing that.

Right-click on Darksiders 2 in your Library, there's a tab, then use verify.

Try this, it solved the 0x000007b problem for me last time. just fix all the directx/vc++ installation for you. but it's in chinese, but just click the big button.

https://www.gdaily.org/508/directx-repair-0xc000007b

but may be you will then face another problem like me now, the game starts but it has something to do with resolution and i can't play it yet, and no fix works for me on this one.

i had the same problem
just go to system32 (C:\Windows\System32) and then delete al the .dll d3dx9 (they usually rage its from 24 to 43),finally go where you install the game from there go to _CommonRedist>DirectX>jun2010
(or just copy the next direccion: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010)
and install the DXSETUP:exe file

For whome still have this error.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMo_X1GKO7g&ab_channel=MrFixer

Try this video...
Or in short, Delete d3dx9* which is in System32 and SysWOW64.
Then delete X_input1_3.dll in System32 and SysWOW64.

Then install DirectX June 2010.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Then try to play.
