How bad are the crashes?
Ok so I got this game for free since last year and I am going to give this game another go (finished the original quite some years back).
But on clicking the store page I see a lot of reviews mentioning how the game crashes every now and then.
How bad are those crashes? Is it anywhere near as bad as Bioshock Remastered?

I haven't had any yet but I am only a lil ways in so, take that for what it is. Seems to run smooth enough for me and acts pretty cleanly no sticking load screens so far or anything like that. Only thing so far I have had any real issue with is trying to figure out what the what looks like maybe a port left over...a D Pad looking menu above your mini map that.. does or doesn't do something... Haha I honestly haven't figured it out yet >.<

Good to know. By any chance, do the crashes depend on how good your hardware is?

Don't have shadow quality on the highest setting (it's broken and shouldn't be used). Don't Alt-Tab or use the Steam in-game overlay while playing. Make sure to have V-sync enabled.

You may experience random crashes during combat (most typically in end-game areas or during NG+). There's no fix, but you should be able to work around it by disabling damage indicators.

Install the beta patch if you want when you get to the Lostlight region to avoid a cutscene crash (otherwise, just go out and earn XP until you level up before talking to the Archon).

That should cover most of the issues. The rest is either rare, cosmetic, or related to performance (since you've played it in the past, you may be aware that Darksiders II has always been on the janky side, and that didn't really change with the re-release).

I've been having crashses in the dlc areas. I think I've had maybe 4 crashes altogether in 30 hrs of playtime.

No crashes but I am unable to scrolll in the skill tree menu to read the upgrades. Scrolling works just fine for me in key bindings so this is setting me off hard core.

JUST WANNA READ WHAT AN UPGRADE DOES BEFORE I TAKE A SKILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, alt-tabbing, shadow settings and v-sync really screws the game. Can't scroll through skills either, so I'm not the only one :D such stupid mistakes shouldn't be tolerated this long to be honest. so much for a "remake" meh. If you haven't go play the first one, it's totally better imo.

Been playing for 13 hours and not a single crash so far! Compared to my ps4 exp... this is godlike. Srsly on ps4 I had frame rate drops every second and crash on every hour at the very least. So many crashes that I quit playing it. If your pc is fine you shouldnt get any crashes.

They still haven't fixed the dlc?

Mine crashed a lot during the Arbiter's Maze. Like crazy. But that may have been because of the shadow... I was able to finish it but god it was frustrating to fight for a long time and then having to restart...

I also had the Lostlight crash where you have to NOT level up after giving the quest or you have to start again...

It was quite disapointing. Especially since I have good specs and that these crashes seemed to already be there before the Deathinitive edition.. :/

They were. The DLC was rushed because THQ was going through their bankruptcy at the time. They hoped the DLC would forestall their foreclosure, which would then allow thetm to fix the dlc over time.

53 hours, game finished with all dlc's and no crash all the time. All settings to max.

I started to get crashes after about 1/2 to 2/3 of the game (city of the dead). Playing with 2 screens and when I "tabbed out" it crashed and sometimes just like that. but they were rather rare. also the pistol crash on the last boss...
all in all i must say there were few crashes and they don't have much of an impact unless you're in the crucible. ;)
