pushing the kite

I've been enjoying this game a lot but that all ended when I got to an extremley frustrating part where I have to help Benjamin Franklin fly his kite. What do you need to do to push this damn kite? I watched a video of it and I got that you need to wait for the third time he tells you to do it. Is there anything more to it than just clicking the kite at the right time? (and I've put the battery in the pocket)

Push the pocket. That's what I did.

I tried clicking the pocket but it still just drops to the ground. I'm about to give up on this crap game just bacause of this extremley porly designed "puzzle". I thought the wall kicking in Full Throttle was dumb but that was nothing compared to this.

The kite should appear in your inventory while you're holding it, so you don't have to interact with the main screen unless you want to. Pushing it (from your inventory) as soon as he says NOW worked for me; I didn't have to wait until the third time.

It is really infuriating. I guess the puzzle made more sense in the original game, where the word "Push" is actually written as a control action on the screen.

Use the kite in your inventory. Dont try and click on it in the gameworld, you're only making it harder on yourself.

Click on the one in your inventory, hover the mouse over the "Push" icon, and click as soon as he says "Now". Done.
