I play the Linux Remastered version in 2017 and the pleasure was the same!
I think all in all, my favorite adventure game of all time was the Discworld series, can't believe nobody ever made a remaster, it had wonderful graphics.
Loved Thimbleweed Park aswell
But as a game of all time, mine was much X-COM UFO Defense and X-COM Terror From The Deep from Microprose, that is why I'm following Xenonauts 2 development as it is the closest continuation I could find.
Full Throttle was almost on par with DoTT. As was Grim Fandango and Monkey Island 1&2. The very first Sam & Max was also a lot of fun to play.
Zak McKracken, Loom, Curse of Monkey Island and Indiana Jones games (both the Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis) are other honorable mentions.
I never quite got a taste for the Dig. It was okay but in all honesty it never reached the level of the other LA adventures for me. The original Maniac Mansion was also fun but less entertaining to me.
Of course these are all personal opinions.
Already tried that one. A nice, albeit short, fan-made spinoff/sequel. Looking forward to playing more of it but it has not been updated for the past 2+ years. So, not really holding my breath.
Good times. Sam and Max : Hit The Road is another of my favourite games.
And this is still a fun game to play.
Edit: Scratch that, I'm converted. Once you sort of click with the game's sense of humor you actually get a lot of hints.
