If it weren't for the recent controversy surrounding dark mode as a paid DLC, I would readily recommend this app. It's especially useful, particularly when using older titles lacking a borderless option. However, if you prefer to use your PC and software in dark mode, Borderless Gaming may not meet your expectations.

The recent addition of dark mode as paid-for DLC has sparked criticism, and rightly so. Many users (including myself) view dark mode as an essential accessibility feature, which should never come at an additional cost. The developer's assertion that dark mode is merely a theme instead of what it actually is, an accessibility feature, is misguided. Unlike high contrast mode provided by Windows (which the developer recommends you use in place of dark mode if you can't afford it), which is designed to enhance visibility for users with visual impairments, dark mode is meant to improve comfort during prolonged screen usage and reduce eye strain, especially in low-light conditions. Both high contrast mode and dark mode serve differing purposes, and so one simply cannot be used in place of the other.

By charging for dark mode, the developer is effectively monetising an accessibility feature, which is both disheartening and, in my opinion, unacceptable. Until this accessibility feature is added to the base software for free, I cannot in good conscience recommend this app to others.

Apart from the shenanigans. I only care for the software to work and the support to continue.

Dark Mode is a five dollar DLC. Yes I know I could download from GitHub to get it for free, I ALREADY PAID YOU TO SUPPORT YOU.
