is there really no other way to set the number than tapping that many times? a palette would be so much more usable.

The game looked interesting and I like that kind of brainteasers, so I downloaded the demo. The game looks nice, but it unfortunately is very clunky in its functions. - Even with right click counting downwards you need up to five clicks to set a number.
