"you already own one or more of the items included in your cart" when upgrading to DE
Hey guys, seems like a lot of people are having trouble with this. Pinning this for the first week or so.

What's happening:
Everyone who buys DE (even when you already own the original version) gets a free copy of the original version included. However, if you already own the original version, Steam will warn you about this, because the free copy that you're getting with your purchase will be lost. That's okay, because you already own it.

You will still receive the Definitive Edition when ignoring this warning :)

Thank you for the notice! :pinkheart:
I have the Original of this game and payed full price for it as well, Plus I also gifted at full price for a few very good friends of mine at fullprice and Im talking Australian dollars here. Now I just bought this at a discount price for myself and added to my library. BUT now I cant even Buy a copy for my son, I feel I deserve to be able to gift at least my son a copy and at the owner discount price BUT I cant Steam wont let me. I am very disappointed with this, and wish I had known before adding to my library. Is there an Angel out there, probably not. OH well my son will have to wait till Christmas, and even then I may not be able to get for him, I wanted him to get both copys of this adorable game give this Release, BUT he will miss out Im afraid, so anyone wanting to buy for a family member or friend think first, before adding to your library.

UNLESS its set up to be 1 per customer, per day or just during this Re-Release time !

If you buy this version, you will also get the Original version free as thats how it appears. Also this version has 57 Acievements to aquire, were as the original only has 50 achievements. Im still trying to work out which ones are new.

To be honest, this version which is exactly the same as the Original should have been FREE for all Original owners of the game, as with other games that had been revised and re-released. As all owners got them Free.

Still this is a very nice game. worth the price as long as your PC can handle the game with out issues.

So, what exactly does it mean if I say... bought it months ago, tried to play it but forgot that it requires a ton of RAM and wasn't able to play it, but planned to play it eventually some day and...

Should I refund the original game that I bought months ago and buy this then? I don't even get this. D:

Not sure you can still refund through Steam after a few months, the refund time limit is 14days and less than 2 hours game play.

If you did say manage refund the Original and buy this Definitive Edition you will still get the Original anyway, But that may change as time goes on, up to the developers with regards to this anyway.

As for this Edition, I am noticing for me it is playing so much better than the Original and the picture graphics quality is much more improved so I am 100% impressed with this version so far.

With the definitive Edition you will get as stated on the store page :

NEW IN THE DEFINITIVE EDITION
• Packed with new and additional content: New areas, new secrets, new abilities, more story sequences, multiple difficulty modes, full backtracking support and much more!
• Discover Naru’s past in two brand new environments.
• Master two powerful new abilities – Dash and Light Burst.
• Find new secret areas and explore Nibel faster by teleporting between Spirit Wells.

So for me I think its worth the $5 for sure, and well if my son wants to enjoy it, he can Family share if he wants to.

Hmm, the RAM usage didn't go down with DE, if anything, it went up a little. So I'm not sure if it'll perform better for you.
JeffMakesGames Apr 28, 2016 @ 8:06am
It doesn't perform at all. My system can only give the game half the memory requirements.

That's something I mis-read the time I bought the game, but chose not to refund as one day, as I do plan to upgrade my system and memory, so then I could play it.

However, seeing as this new updated game has been released and its the same price as I originally bought the game (paid $19.99), I can't see any reason not to see about getting an exchange done.

Why won't it let us purchase as a gift?

Please explain to me why you didn't optimize this game for 1920x1200 resolution? I bought this game during the summer sale and was very excited to play only to find that there were black bars on the top and bottom on the monitor. Very immersion breaking. I refunded.
