Before, I had the same message as Michura4.
to zedraxio: Well, the good news is that my anti-virus software didn't block it.
I sent an email to both steam and the game devs but so far the only response I've gotten is from the devs is telling me that renpy games are always marked as virus so now I've put in every firewall excuse and exception that i can think of, I'll let you know if it works
You can browse your files by right-clicking the game in the steam client > click properties > local files > browse local files. The game folder should pop up. Then check under lib > and search for python27.dll and SDL2.dll to see if they're there or missing. Also, are your computers a PC or a Mac?
I'm on a PC with Windows 10. I've also attempted to upload the game on different harddrives (one in the computer, one external) with no success.
As far as Jokerfish's comment goes, I will add that other renpry games work fine on my PC. My case is not a firewall problem either.
How many files do you have in the windows-i686 folder? I have 27. Just want to be sure you're not missing anything else.
I've uploaded the missing files onto mediafire.
{LINK REMOVED}http://www.mediafire.com/download/mn34f28ey2dgbzs/windows-i686.rar
You unzip it, then move both files into the windows-i686 folder in the library. Tell me if it works or not. Hope it works though.
What I had found was that in my windows-i686 note there was another application icon for Blood Code. I ran it and had slightly better luck.
I notepad message ran instead saying, "I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.
While running game code:
File "game/screens.rpy", line 9, in <module>
SteamInitError: 'Please run game "Blood Code" from Steam.'"
Steam constantly gives me errors when I try to run it from their side. If there was a way to bypass running the game on Steam, I'd love to try it.
When I try to run through Steam, it says there is a disk write error (already checked all disks, everything is good-to-go).
- Try changing the .exe's compatibility through properties > compatibility > run this program in compatibility for > windows 7 (or XP, whichever may work). See if it runs.
- Update direct x: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35
- Update C++
- uninstall Visual C++ Redis 11.0
- reinstall it from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679
- Update your graphics drivers- Other than that, looks like you'll need to look up other ways to get it to work or contact the developer directly. Windows 10 seems to have given people trouble when it comes to games.
Game can only run by "Blood Code/BloodCode.exe", the .exe in windows-i686 is not able for run.
As so far, the "Unknown Error" we recieved, is most by security software deleted or blocked the exe in the root directory.
