Smite Stuttering and Constant FPS Drops
Hello!

After some patchs I have started with stuttering and highly constant FPS drops.

My specs are:

Processor: Intel i7 4810MQ 2.8 ~ 3.8 Ghz
RAM Memory: 8 GB DDR 3 1600 Mhz
Video Card: GTX 860M with 2 GB Dedicated VRAM Running on a Driver Version of 387.92 (the most actual version of Geforce)
Intel Video Card: Intel HD 4600
Hard Drive: SSHD 500 GB
SO: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bits

It is not happening with any other games, only with Smite.

I have tried everything that you can imagine!

I have searched all the existing forums in the world and all the solutions that was there was not enough to solve my problem.

So... What can I do now? Wait for a solution? Is it a problem from Hi-Rez or GeForce?

I get the same thing. It seems to fix itself after a few days for me (in the meantime I have to turn settings down to minimum -_-).

Only thing I gave done that might help (though it didn't have any immediately noticable effects) is to make sure your PC is free of dust.

Otherwise, do the usual; Update drivers, Verify files etc.

Unfortunately I will have to set all the settings to minimum and wait for a few days and see if It will be solved.

My laptop is free from dust. I am almost pretty sure about it.

All my drivers are up to date and all the files have been verified.

My last questions: Are they already know this issue? Will it be fixed someday? I used to play at maximum settings without any trouble.

Thank-you very much for you answer and your attention!

I also used to play at highest settings back in season 2 and early season 3. For some reason, when around when Ah Puch was released I started getting this issue in the odd patch here and there. First few days to a week would start matches with 100-150 FPS then by the time minions spawned, it would plummet to 30, and drop harshly from there during random fights (even on lowest settings sometimes unfortunately).

I don't know what causes it, but every time it has seemed to fix itself. So I'm not sure how HiRez could fix it, or if it's even an issue with the game/patches themselves.

you're launching smite from your external gpu?
Drigu ~ Oct 20, 2017 @ 6:22pm
Yes!

My NVIDIA Control Panel has an icon that shows what is using my external GPU and Windows 10 Task Manager can show how much each task is using the GPU. Smite is always there using my external GPU with, at least, 50% usage, which task manager shows as GPU 1.

My FPS keeps on 60 because I have locked it. However it keeps dropping from 60 to 20 every 10 seconds and I really do not know why. If I do not lock it on 60, then it is 150 and keeps dropping from 150 to 20 every 10 seconds. It does not change anything.

I have tried a few tutorials that I found in forums like I said in the paragraph above, but it did not work yet.

I will try keep playing and see If It will fix itself. But it is really horrible to play like this.

I do not know if it could be the problem but I use my internet on cable and on wifi and it keeps dropping no matter what I use. Ping is always stable.

I guess your problem is caused by crapware like steam overlay (it also causes bug that doesn't allow you to use esc button), other overlays, xbox dvr, other win10 preinstalled injectors and spyware, win10 itself. How do you lock fps? Through enabling vsync in-game?

Also overheating causes constant fps drops, but you've said only smite has this problem.

If you need help, better show a list of installed software / running proccesses instead of specs
Drigu ~ Oct 21, 2017 @ 6:32am
Yes! I agree with you.

I must confess that I did not try play without Steam Overlay yet.

XBOX DVR is already disabled even in the regedit.

I do not know about Windows 10 Pre Installed Injectors. What it would be?

Spyware cannot be, because I even did a clean format of hard drive with Windows 10 about a 4 days ago. I did not installed any suspect application.

I lock my FPS through the BattleEngine.ini like in the tutorials on smite forums. I have enabled and disabled VSYNC in-game but it really does not have any effect. The FPS keeps dropping.

And yes! Only Smite has this issue. I do not think that is an overheating issue.

Well 90% of this list are maintenance processes and unless some of them have some hidden conflict with smite which is improbable, I think also default win10 antivirus (windows defender + security essentials) may conflict with easyanticheat

Add these lines into windows defender exceptions list, I won't promise it will work, this trick is a known fix for incredible long launching times, maybe it will work in you case too

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\SMITE

I did what you said and I added these lines into Windows Defender exceptions list. It really worked for long launching time, thank-you, but FPS keeps dropping to 20. All settings are on Minimum.

Can It be an issue of Nvidia Drivers?

--- EDIT ---

I also have a video which shows what I am experiencing. How can I show this video for you? I do not own this video but I found it on youtube and the guy that have recorded the video was on this situation like me.

You can just leave a link to the video here.

Why not, it also can be an issue of your audio drivers.
Drigu ~ Oct 22, 2017 @ 8:22am
Guys, here is the link to the video that I was talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unx9IAcQ2is

Maybe the link will be hide, then here is the code to the video, just put it to the end of the youtube link and watch it: watch?v=unx9IAcQ2is

It exactly describes what is the issue.

As I said above, update your audio drivers. If you don't think this is serious: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/2e6xsr/potential_fix_for_those_experiencing_fps_lag_and/

Sorry, I forgot to tell you about the audio drivers. It is actually up to date. I did see this post on reddit and I updated my audio drivers and did not seem to solve.

I have found this thread on the smite forum and seemed to help until now http://forums.smitegame.com/showthread.php?66058-Smite-low-fps-and-stuttering-fix

With this tutorial, all settings on Minimum and Vertical Synchronization Enabled with Triple Buffering, now it is constant on FPS 60. But what does it means? Should it be fixed by Hi Rez? Is it any particle in the game that is stuttering the game?
