SMITE

Smite's download stops all the time.
I don't understand why either: I play start, then it goes to the download page, after one second it stops as if there's no connection. I tried this with another game but it works fine so it must be smite for sure: any idea why?

Thank you: I'm not used to use the discussion tab very often, sorry for the mistake.

Not sure as I haven't experienced that myself, but sometimes after an update or if the update isn't loading when I know there is one to load, I have to run a verification of the game files cache. Do you know how to do that to see if that fixes it?

Not really no, however I did manage to download it somehow. Basically, I had to constantly press "download" whenever it stopped. It took only 30 minutes for me at least but when I tried to download another game, it didn't suddenly drop. According to the steam download, it's the "Disc" that keeps dropping, while the "net" seems fine.

Then it is likely something stopping it from installing once it has downloaded parts of it (i.e. it couldn't save to disk properly).

Possibly antivirus or firewall or something similar preventing it, and you just override it each time by pressing download.

Hm now that you mention that, the first time i tried to log in AVG popped up and froze the computer, saying that there was a virus (it was an exe file). Could it be that?

Possibly, though it depends on what file it mentioned. Mine never came up with any message whilst installing or downloading Steam games (though maybe settings between mine and yours are different in some way). I know there hasn't been a message from it about Smite since I reinstalled it a couple months ago and nothing popped up.
