I dont care about the money being spent, I care about the people spending it where it should be spent, which is no longer on Smite 1, if you are going to spend money it now needs to be done on Smite 2 if you dont want to be scammed for 50% of its value.
This is a scam to those that are uniformed and spend money or those that spent money recently to now be informed, I do not want anyone to be scammed or feel that way. One day you might know what it feels like to be scammed but that would require you to not have too much money to begin with so you care about what happens to it.
Nor is there any horse to be high on its simply dont get ripped people I didnt and you cant too.
Different game different skins different gods, but eventually be mostly the same made by the same people, idk if they will maintain Smite 1 and Continue Smite 2, Lets see how long Smite 1 will last and If Smite 2 doesn't just kill the whole thing by dividing the community and your money in half and everything else it will do. I mean there are probably a lot of whales that will just finance the whole fiasco regardless which is fine as long as you are aware of what your wasting your money on.
My best bet is Smite 1 carries on and peters out in a few years and shuts down due to low pop and no one playing all the game modes some servers not being used at all at times so no need to spend money maintaining them and Smite 2 doesn't really get the growth Smite 1 had due to splitting the community and their money, who knows maybe they both die or maybe the devs double in size and they work on both games equally well into the future and no one is being scammed or money being wasted and everyone is happy because they different games after all so you dont shut down one to have the other even if its a near Copy Paste of the original.
people need to honestly either get knowledge about how game development works and stfu or just leave community needs to be nuked of the toxic people anyways to make way for new players
Everytime a developer clearly sh*ts at you there are idiots like this believing it.
How is pressing copy and paste a sequel exactly ? Do you even know what a sequel is ?
I really start to understand now why companys get away with this kind of thing.
I have a better idea. Get this.
How about Hi-Rez just upgrades the current SMITE into unreal Engine 5 and we keep everything ? How about doing the job correct the first time instead of wasting money and resources on something thats clearly gonna fail ? Sure converting everything into Unreal5 is alot of work but Hi-Rez held alot of money back over the years they should have spend for better servers anyways so how about they use the money we gave them ?
Also about the being "entiteld to their labor". Without us there is no Hi-Rez so technically we are their "BOSS". We are entiteld to literally everything. Everything Hi-Rez is today "WE PAID FOR". They owe us.
They couldn't update Smite1 because the only way that goes over well is if they managed to port everything. This means every god and every skin. While their work years crap was obviously nonsense because they didn't just include the time to make the skin, but also rigging the base model etc. This would still require a lot of work.
They would likely have to stop updating the game for a year or two which would be a death sentence.
Due to the nature of the changes you also can't do it bit by bit, they had to reset everything to have something before 2030.
They will also attract way more new people with a fresh launch. The new player experience right now is horrendous, there are way too many gods abilities and items to learn and that is even if you completely ignore conquest.
While I can see why people want to keep their stuff and imo they way they did it is pretty bad (just release new and legacy skins slowly and let us buy legacy skins with legacy gems), your suggestion would
1) add very few new players
2) possibly outright kill the game before it can be ported
3) add an absurd amount of workload that has next to 0 payout
Also no, you are not entitled to anything. You paid money you got a product. You paid a lot of money for a useless virtual product. Do you expect every new Taco Bell shop that opens to give you a free taco because you bought one 5 years ago?
Also all of their products beside smite have been an utter failure. I doubt they have a lot of money they can use. It's much more likely that this (clearly) anti-consumer move is made out of necessity because their funds will be running dry.
Don't forget that they're gambling their whole company at this point. If smite fails it's over. Nobody sane would make this move if it wasn't absolutely necessary.
Also there was an interview they did where they said they had people check out the changes until they felt reasonably rewarded with it, meaning it was much much worse before they started tweaking things.
If that doesn't tell you that the company is in financial trouble I dunnonwhat does.
Btw if Hirez dies, Smite and all your skins die with it, just a friendly reminder.
Thanks for good years, I guess. It was good while it lasted.
Divide it by the people that do the work.
It would take one person 240 years or 24 people 10 years.
Companies tend to hire more than one person.
in all honestly, do you guys cry over every new assassins creed game too cuz new skins or when the yearly sports game come out?
abunch of no lifes gaming free 2 play all year and then screaming scam because a sequel comes out.
its a game, you pay money to play it or in this case to get some shinies, everyone who thought a free 2 play game would exist forever is ignorant.
and of course they don't invest over 270 man in hours to recreate 1600 skins for everyone ... its a company with employees which need money to have a living, game has to get some money.
some ignorant dudes on the internet circle jerking because nobody respects their grinded ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is hilarious.
