SMITE
RIP SMIT
All developments are ceasing on smite and paladins as a lot of hi rez devs are laid off, remaining people are all shifted to smite 2 as the last resort to keep the company afloat

Yeap, Smite 1 site doesn't exist anymore. You will be redirected to Smite 2 site instead.

Can't believe I'm copy and pasting. Here the context for people who is behind the rock.

From Official Pala-cord

"Some of you have heard news of layoffs impacting the Evil Mojo team, and for those who have not yet, active development of Paladins is being halted. No more major updates are expected, however the servers will remain online. Although we do not know what the future will hold, we will remain available for users to discuss what is available to us.

As a result, a number of channels on this discord have been archived, mainly pertaining to things that would require development and updates to be expected (such as bug reports, game feedback, and event pass giveaways). This will leave it more manageable as the server continues on for a place focused around players sharing their passion for a game we all remember, sometimes fondly, sometimes with frustration (never forget OB64).

I know the latest news is disappointing, but please remember the people who work on this game, who are now in a situation where they are searching for a way to continue their lives. The Developers of Paladins worked very hard to maintain this game in the way they could, and we can only hope to see them flourish in the next steps they take.

Thank you all, and we'll still see you in The Realm."

Leaked version:

Radar-
In light of challenging market conditions, Hi-Rez is implementing a reduction in force across our Rally Here, Evil Mojo Games, and Titan Forge Games division. This was a difficult decision aimed at ensuring the long-termsustainnbility of our studios.

SMITE 2 will continue to be the focus of the newly streamlined operation. These reductions should enable a steady flow of new content and the continued development of SMITE 2, while aligning team costs with revenues.

SMITE 1, Paladins and Rogue Company servers will remain available for the foreseenable future, but no further major updates are currently planned for these games. We understand this may come as a disappointment to many of you, but know that Paladins has an incredibly special place in our hearts. We plan to keep the servers and currently available content running as long as possible to allow you to continue to enjoy the game.

We want to acknowledge and thank every individual impacted by this transition for their incredible contributions. Each affected team member has received eight weeks' notice and has our unwavering support in their search for new opportunities. They are exceptionally talented, and any studio would greatly benefit from their skills and passion.

Today is incredibly challenging for all of us. We ask for your patience and understanding during this time as we transition. If you have questions or concerns about this, feel free to reach out.
I mean once smite 2 gets all the gods + more then smite 1 had.. whats the point? move on. NO game lasts forever, its a sad fact.

I posted this on a similar thread in the SMITE 2 discussions:
People, the remaining SMITE 2 team is still bigger than the SMITE 1 team was for many years of its life. Times are tough in the game industry right now. There are so many good studios that are going through layoffs or flat shutting down. This layoff was to ensure the continued future of SMITE. Layoffs always suck, but this one hit me so much harder. Sooo many truly great people had to be laid off. To honor their massive contributions, those of us remaining are going to work that much harder to make sure SMITE has a long future.

At least, would it be able to leave the old news tab of SMITE 1 for posterity sake?

Nothing was wrong with Smite 1. I honestly hope Smite 2 causes their collapse. Dumbasses

So. You pretty much confirm that Hi-Rez is in financial trouble and yet they insist on betting everything on that one card which is Smite2 ? Who was working at management when that decisions were made ? Those guys need to be laid off. Paladins was literally the only other game besides Smite that gave you guys any noteable revenue.

This will bite you in the arse horribly.
Smite 2 flopped, bad. It will only get worse and you might not even exist this time next year. Think about before banning people who tell you the truth. No one will switch to Smite 2 magically, they will find another game instead.
