I don't understand the issue since Hercules is the roman version and Heracles is the greek version.

If you don't know who is Hercules, I suggest you search "hercules wiki" on google.

But to spare you of some searching, Hercules is the son of Zeus and Hera (both greek gods). And Hercules belonges into greek mithology.

I am not sure if this thing is on purpose or a mistake/ bug.

Then again Roman myth has taken many elements of Greek myth so the two are pretty much related, I would even argue, the Roman stories are a continuation of the Greek stories. The Romans went through great lengths to legitimize their "civilization" as being truly "civilized" by having it tie in neatly with the Greek. Long story short, the Roman gods are mostly the Greek gods with new names and some minor differences.
So although I would agree that Hercules would better fit under Greek, its not completely wrong. Zhang has a good point.

Actually Heracles is the Greek, Hercules is the Roman version.

I just searched "hercules wiki" on Google and this is what I got:
"Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek divine hero Heracles, who was the son of Zeus (Roman equivalent Jupiter)".

In short:

Heracles=Greek
Hercules=Roman

You might want to do your research before posting things like this...

Typically situations such as these are the reason why Hi-Rez develop the game and us players do not.

The romans adopted most if not all the greek mythogy but changed the names. If i'm not mistaken, Bacchus is supposed to be Dionysis, Vulcan is Haephestus. I do find it kind of odd that they went with the roman versions.

Most of the Roman versions they went with are simply more well known under their Roman names than their Greek ones. Hercules being the biggest example, of course. So it only makes sense if they are trying to have only one version to have the version with the better known name.

You just said it yourself "romans called the Greek diety Herakles = Hercules". BUT this doesn't mean that the Romans adopted Herakles as their diety with another roamn name ( like the rest of the gods : jupiter (zeus) nepturn (poseidon) and so on.

I did my researches well, mythology is one of my hobies. Maybe you should read better next time. Calling someone different doesn't make him a different individual.

Hercules is not a diety in the Roman religion. It's the name of the greek herakles, yes, but shouldn't be featured as roman god.

This is what you people don't get it. Hercules (or Herakles, the same) is not a Roman god/ diety. Search Roman religion and show me that Hercules is a roman god. Please prove me I am wrong.

But he is 100% a part of Roman mythology. Both the Romans and Greeks worshiped his father, the Romans just happened to call his father Jupiter. Everyone here needs to remember that this is a freaking video game that uses characters based on myths and legends, and it does not have to be 100% accurate.

Especially with someone like Herc who has multiple incarnations throughout history.
