SMITE
How big should your god pool be?
I've been thinking about this, looking at smite.guru I've got hours played across the board on a lot of gods, but none that i've played a ton on. So a bit of a jack of all trades master of none deal in a way. I do have 69 mastered (soon to be 70 with amaterasu), but tbh a lot of them are mastered due to events, altho I do have 339 hours played (true amount, unlike steam that counts idling in lobby as playing) so i've certainly put some time in the game. Probably haven't played a game this much since vanilla/tbc wow.

How big should ones god pool be? Obviously playing every god a bit to see how they work so you can better counter them is a good thing, but perhaps playing so many different gods isn't efficient for getting better at the game in terms of aiming for perhaps a higher league rank or just generally wanting to do better.

Your thoughts?

Master every god to be more helpful in picking, learn to play 12~15 gods really well and have 1~2 that you try and master. That should be most efficient I think.
That said, I played my qualifiers and then quit conquest league for good. It's too elitist for me even at my average level of skill.

I only played Ranked to get the AMC skin for winning 20 matches in season 2. Haven't been back since.

This is my plan for playing in League, but that's really the only place where the size of your "god pool" really matters. In Normals, I still think you should branch out and try other gods to learn more about what to expect from the game, but play what you want.

Yeah, if not for yourself, at least so you'll be able to trade.
