How to counter Murcury
I just played a conquest match using Kulkulkhan and I saw one person on the enemy team that was obviously really good at playing/ building murcury and I just wanted to know if there is a good way to counter that god.

He took one of my teams most tanky gods and killed him in about 4 or 5 seconds from full hp.

Mercury is hard to counter, most assasins are, as a guardian/support main I'd say your best chance is getting him stunned in a bad spot, or just run into a tower, out of his range (his 1 reaches pretty far)
Also Hide of the nemian lion/shield of the underworld work really well

Well thanks. I was only able to avoid him once and thats because i used kuku's ULT to get him off me and push him back. Then I used blink to escape.

Kukulkan is a glass cannon, assasins like merc counter glass cannons so you might not be able to escape every time.

If a Mercury is on the other team, you should try to use a god that has a dash. Otherwise, slow Mercury down or silence him so he can't use abilities on you.

Mercury is an AA based god so silence him is somehow useless.. the best way to take down mercury is to stun him

That's part of what is making him so good right now, because it is hard to directly counter him without teamwork. Besides Hide of the Nemean Lion and/or Shield of the Underworld, you can also try Witchblade to lower his attack speed and physical power. You can also try using the Enfeebling Curse active to more drastically lower his attack and movement speed, but if he's built Winged Blade (which isn't out of the question on a Mercury), then it really isn't going to help you too much.

So yeah, I'd suggest Witchblade as your best defensive item to counter Mercury, then Shield of the Underworld if you really just need an active to survive Mercury only, otherwise I'd go with Enfeebling Curse instead as it will also work for chasing/escaping other gods, and Hide of the Nemean Lion is another option, but it isn't going to help you survive that well so much (unless you're a tank) as just make Mercury take some more damage trying to hit you.

A last option is just to go with Mail of Renewal so that he can't just easily come in after a teamfight and clear you out while you're at low health, since if you can help kill some of his teammates you'll get some health back and won't be super vulnerable.

As a once Mercury main myself in the past. I can personally tell you a few things that in my own experience Mercury players hate.

Since all Mercury players will have crit. Nemean is strong true but Midguardian is stronger. Since Mercury relies on his 2 for a short amount of burst damage to shred tanks, slowing that down is your best bet. Also look for when any Mercury player uses Special Delivery. The cool down on his 3 is actually a really damn long time, a lot longer than most people think. Attack speed slows and damage reflect is good but one good note to remember is Mercury (like most assassins) are very prone to heavy CC. If you focus your CC on him first, he'll go down like a lamp :3

Hi, diamond Merc here. (I get that that usually doesn't mean much, but Merc was my first penta, so... yeah, I'd say I'm pretty good at him)

The two best counters to a Mercury-- well, keep in mind that he's squishy as hell, like most of the other assassins. CC him and burst him to death (or just burst him to death) or, like the rest have said, slow him down. A regular Merc's early-game power comes from speed (Sprint + boots is basically a brief, reusable red potion) so taking that away in the first seven minutes or so will not only leave him absurdly vulnerable to anyone with any burst whatsoever, but make him more-or-less powerless to fight back or escape, as his only reliable escape - his ult - takes a few seconds to charge and his dash can be blocked with ease. That applies to his late-game, too, but usually by then he can just walk in the opposite direction and you'll lose him after a minute or two, or alternatively two-shot you, which is much more helpful (and easier).

Ah, Midgardian is a good option too. Good suggestions.

Against a fed merc there is not much you can do as kuku. You could get combat blink and 2 out of there but might still catch you eventually since he has two ways of closing distance and a ranged basic attack ability.
If you are equal you can try to burst him down with all you got while running around in your 3, but its not a good idea to box with him just like with ranged adc's.
