Ish? Is there more to this discussion? Requests for how to counter her? Tips for playing her better since she's supposed to be so good? Ideas for fan rebalances if you think she needs a nerf?

Or is this just spam?

I personally do not enjoy how long her Taunt lasts, but then again I'm a baddie and constantly forget to buy/use Purification.

Counters:
  • Keep your distance if you're a carry so that it is hard for her to taunt you
  • Use your CC on her if she dashes towards you (difficult, but doable)
  • If you're a tank, try to bait out her taunt so she doesn't have it to set up her carries to hit your carries, or hit her with any CC you have when she tries to dash to your carries
  • Get one player to distract her and bait her dash/taunt, while the other players flank her and attack the carries behind her
  • Basic attack focused gods with attack speed builds burn through her blocks from her dash quickly and make using her taunt much more dangerous for her (Hunters, Chronos, Freya, Osiris, Erlang Shen, Arachne, Mercury, Kali, Ravana, etc.)

Tips for playing her better:
  • Don't underestimate her passive; having ranged piercing basics can far more useful than you might otherwise think! They can hit all the minions in a wave (use it to help clear!) and even go through walls and bodyblocking enemies!
  • Don't forget to try to hit enemies (and minions) with her dash to gain those block stacks! They are especially helpful when you're going to immediately be taunting and making the enemy hit you with their basics...
  • Don't worry about trying to drop her 3 on the enemy before taunting; taunt them before they get away, then drop your 3 for the first half of the damage... Hopefully one of your teammates will follow up with another CC for a chain and the second half of the damage will hit them, but at the very least the ring serves as extra zoning incentive for the enemy to try to get out of there...
  • Her Ult can also be used as an escape if you overextend or get surrounded trying to save your allies; Ult to one of your teammates outside the battle and sometimes you can slip out before they knock you down

Does she need a nerf?

Not really? She's still common on the pick/ban list, but not a necessity pick/ban right now. Perhaps her taunt's cooldown could be bumped up a little or something, but I think she's in a good spot right now and too much tinkering with her would easily just make her useless. She's not really more OP than other Guardians like Kumbha or Sobek, so keep practicing.

Depends on how things are going and what game mode. I usually build her all defense and do great, but if you're cheesing in Arena or something you could throw on a Polynomicon and E-Staff. I do that if we're ahead and it looks like I can get away with it. :steammocking:

Haha yes your right i also build defensive...maybe a bit offensive when we are winning, for some reason when ever i pick Athena me and my team do really well in arena ... I have to say playing her is so funny and love it when their whole team waste their attacks on me after i taunt and rush into them and i am like "swosh" i am out here xD

but to be true i still dont know who are my main targets even i am level IV with her...you know who i have to look for ? i just find it out by auto attacks in a match xD who suffer the most dmg
