Can't find a match whatsoever
Hello fellow gamers. I'm currently experiencing an issue where I can't find a match at all. I've been re-queued infinitely for the past 10-15 times on PC. is it a bug? Is it a corrupted file? Any insight would be appreciated.

Is your Crossplay on "Pc Only"?

Yes

That's why. The pool of players who don't run crossplay is super small. The game's pop was pretty low on pc now anyway and now that everyone automatically opts in to crossplay it's just dead for those who don't want to play with xbox players.

Hi-Rez is about to drop Switch players into this mess too. It's about to get much worse.

That happens coz since the "crossplay" patch every smite client on pc was set to "Crossplay" so when you change the option for "pc only" you are going to play only with those who also changed to "pc only" idk if this makes sense my english is trash.

Most of pc players didnt bother changing this "crossplay" option, many still have the "crossplay" enabled thats why you wont find matches in a reasonable amount of time with "pc-only" option.

Which isn't how that option should work really. It should still match you with PC players who have crossplay enabled, it should just avoid putting console players in the match.

I would suspect they run crossplay queue MM first or split those to 2 separate player pools to save time with parallel processing and once that finishes, put the rest of players from crossplay queue to their respective non-crossplay queues. Which is just a few players left over from crossplay joining non-crossplay queue and supposedly not enough to find enough players at your level if there aren't many in non-crossplay queue to start with.
Which is another main issue. Most people play with crossplay on. Because it is on by default and once you try to turn it off, most likely there aren't many other people testing it out at exact same time. Because random and because there aren't that many players in Smite to start with. So we all try and fail and turn it back on after a 1..2 wasted queues.

You would need a lot of people turning crossplay off and keeping it that way for something to change. Slow and painful process for tryhards.

But then there aren't many reasons to avoid crossplay in general. MM works based on your previous average performance. If you are bad with controller compared to keyboard players, your MMR will mirror that. While there are plenty of good controller players like Aggro you might know from their casters team for example. He was console pro few years ago. You might not like playing against him in a lane/jungle with your mouse.

Also keep in mind Smite MM likes to average out teams with questionable choices in casual mode. It has always been this way. When you get many red games you might see more lower levels on opponent team after a while. When you have many blue games, there is higher chance those will appear on your team. And that has nothing to do with console. Console will now be part of the bigger picture, but it is still about MMR shifts. MM in Smite does work this way because there aren't millions of players. It can not put you against many better ones. It just gives you worse teammates in the end to balance out.
