In 1v1 Baka always was top tier pick. Game is balanced around Conquest, no nerf to Baka because of 1v1, just ban him.

Smite is designed around Conquest and everything that comes with that. Extended laning phase, jungle clear, teamfight dynamics, and ganks. Almost none of this applies to 1v1, and the only thing that really matters in it is poke and boxing capability.

Duel is not a balanced game mode. Never was, never will be.

You have to look at the whole of the god, not just 1 part. If he is squishy he needs something to balance against that. CC, Damage, Attack/Movement Speed, Passive, Ability effects. They went with damage. Easy counter (nto hard counter) is Midguardian, Nemean (preferable), Witchblade items. 1 or a mix of them should help. Curse and antiheal items (for his eat minions, and speed) help too.

Even with out duel, baka is a bs charchter choice. Not that he is at the top of my list for changes to the game or anything. But he is a cheap god for the fact of how much damage output he does + his attack speed. I've seen him wipe a joust team with his opponets having multi-armor builds to include N. lion. The life steal completly does away with him being squish. (Unless his opponets are one of those one shot mages, but normaly they don't get to level that high due to his out put damage so early on). Am I saying Nerf him? Nope just simpley putting out that I agree with the poster that baka over all is a bs choice.

He gets up to 70 true damage per basic with his 3, and that's not even counting the rest of the damage he does and any penetration he has on it, so yeah, armor builds are not the best counter to him. You definitely want stuff like Midgaardian and Witchblade (as Dread said) to counter the attack speed items that a Bakasura will be building so that he can get fewer basics in during the duration of his 3 buff. Hide of the Nemean can also work to reflect the damage back at him, but your mileage may vary there if you aren't in Duel.

Add Quins' Sais into the Bakasura mix and it just gets ridiculous. Best to use CC to keep him away if possible.

What is your aspect of "early" game? Mines anything around lvl 1-5 which is plenty of time for him to get his early items and start stacking the abilitis he needs to pick off less than ideal players, or tag team average players and then he takes off like a rocket not long after that he can solo pretty much the whole team from there. And nice imput, but my comment/suggestion was my oppion, if you feel it's slow than that's your oppion. (That and your proba. better at holding him off than I/my team is)
