First of all, play safe untill you get your ulti. Agni has an escape, but needs time to grow stronger.
When you get to level 5, keep attacking from a distance. Do the ult + 1 combo to stun them for team mates engaging, or just to be a massive d*ck.
Agni shines out at long distance poking and being a big bully in general.
Stay behind your team though, because Agni is very squishy.
Do not just engage without a team because you need one. Especially early/mid game.
Late game and with the right build Agni can pretty much 1 shot with his 4 - 1 - 2 combo, but dont get cocky ofcourse.
Agni is a kinda straight forward god so there's not much left to say about him, but he's a great god none the less. Not really that popular anymore, though still gets picked often enough and I love having one on my team for his utilty purposes.
To conclude: Agni destroys when in the right hands. If you see someone coming after you, show them you're the real deal by keeping distance but still being able to attack with your abilities. Chanses are they'll be less than 50% HP once they're close enough to attack.
Thats how I play him personally, and because I keep my distance and stick close to the guardians or warriors I usually do very well. When some one comes in melee range, I punish by ulting, placing my 1, stunning them, so I have to time use the rest of my ult too.
When they get back up, you either use your 2 or 3 depending on wether your attacking or escaping. But when you're out of abilities I suggest you dont go boxing, Agni is more abilty based.
2-1-4 is harder to do, but leaves you with an escape.
My second relic is Sanctuary which I pair with cc to help get aaway (or alone to counter assasins like Loki) but idk if that's a good combo overall?
More team awareness and staying mindful of my squishiness would definitely help counter this though, which I'm working on.
Okay, thanks for explaining the relic choices for Agni! I'll try experimenting some with the different relics for the situation.
