Thanks for the Anubis buff

I really want to thank hi-rez for buffing Anubis.
I mean, untill now all he could do is kill your whole team in 5 seconds. FIVE SECONDS, That's so long.
Thanks for making his ult bigger, i think it wasn't enough that you could spin and aim at mouse-speed, maybe add a bit of auto-aim as well? or make the laser a homing laser.
I still don't think it's good enough that it just goes through some walls. make it like janus's ultimate. make it go through the whole map.
Maybe reveal enemy location as well? that would be cool.
And add a 5th ability.
And the ability to have 7 items.
Make them free for anubis.
You should make anubis's ultimate shoot in all directions, so it's easier to hit btw.

How about, making his stun longer? or his abilities to have more ticks. like, 20 ticks per second. Keep the damage the same.

Exactly. Too many people spam forums with their nerf demands when they really need to learn how to adjust their playstyle to the situation. Which means I'm going to copy-paste what I said in a recent "Nerf Nox" thread since it applies practically the same to Anubis.

So on that topic, tips for playing against Nox Anubis:
#3 - Buy magical protections and/or CC reduction! Bulwark of Hope or Genji's Guard or even Spirit Robe will do wonders to increase your survivability against her him. Even if you are a carry sometimes just not dying is important too! If you are a Tank and your teammate carries are having issues with her him, consider getting Shell or Heartward Amulet or just CCing her him and bodyblocking the root stun for your teammates.

#2 - Get Purification! If you didn't do #3 and get magical protections because perhaps you're a squishy carry who needs other items, you need Purification against Nox Anubis! Sanctuary will not work because of her silence his stun, but it will work after the stun wears off... And don't be aggressive around her him while Purification is on cool down, unless you went all out and got a Magi's Blessing OR you learned #1...

#1 - Learn positioning and keeping track of enemy cooldowns! In addition to juking by zig-zagging erratically, if you aren't a Tank and/or don't have magical protections, you have no business being anywhere close to a Nox Anubis! Stand behind someone who is a Tank and has magical protections and learn to push out when you have Purification OR she's he's already used her root his stun so it's on cooldown, and learn to fall back and stay at easier dodging range when these conditions aren't met and she he could hit a combo on you at any time! And always get Boots for the move speed to get out of her silence his AoE circle and zig-zag his Ult, and consider other options with move speed like Winged Blade (which also has CCR) to add some more speed on top of that! Sprint is another useful relic against her him for the purposes of repositioning and dodging her his combo, but like Sanctuary it will not work in her silence if he stuns you, so you have to use it proactively to dodge...

I don't play Arena and a lot of people actually play conquest over it. Anubis still didn't need it, He's not a warrior he doesn't need to go in with massive power. He is a mage he was perfect, you had to time your ulti, your abilities for a perfect attack. There was no need for this buff like a lot of buffs hi-res gives. And then they nerf the people that no one plays. Its how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MOBA's work.

The community never matters its only what makes them money. Buff to the already overpowered Anubis will rake them in more money cause people will just buy skins for him now that they can't lose with him. Gg

I dont want to have to change my build and get certain items just because someone chose anubis.

When hi-rez adds/buffs a god. i dont think they take in consideration his team.

His combo is the most op combo i have ever seen, killing a tank in a few seconds, constant damage.

The best thing i could do was get winged blade and escape his slow.

Zig zag his ult?
Unless he is lagging badly (fps lag), that is impossible. on clash, i even went behind a wall and he got me. Zig zagging wont do ♥♥♥♥ because he can move his ult at mouse-speed.

Totally false, BUT they do only balance around Conquest. If you're playing another mode, all bets are off, but Anubis isn't really OP in any of the modes, which is why he's the current most popular choice for "worst god in Smite".

There are plenty of other Mage-burst-combos we could talk about: Scylla, Nox, Janus, Kukulkan, Zeus, etc. The Nox and Janus combos even have the same issues with not being able to do anything but beads out of them... Meanwhile Anubis has even less mobility than Zeus. Hide behind a tank to avoid his stun... Of course I know his Ult will go through teammates, that's when you split up so he has to pick one of you. It's not a big AoE like Zeus's Ult, so there's no reason Anubis should be getting more than one of your team with it before you can kill him back, unless you're all grouping up in a straight line for him or you're way too low health altogether to kill him back while he's standing there stationary in his Ult...

Zig zag his ult?

His Ult goes through walls (like the aforementioned teammates), and he'll still get outline visibility of you with wards or teammates or minions that still have a sightline to you; there's even an Anubis achievement about it... His Ult is still super narrow (even if it's a little less narrow than before), so if you zig-zag directly perpendicular to him, you can still reduce the damage he's doing to you by 25-50% because you're still forcing him to track you. Like I mentioned above, your team can also split up rather than all fleeing in the same direction so you force him to pick which one of you he wants to kill the most...

Not to mention you can keep track of his cooldowns and not engage him fully until you bait out his Ult... Especially if you're a squishy carry who can't afford to replace offensive items with defensive items (though sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do). The only reason he'd be melting Tanks in seconds is if a) the Tank isn't building enough defenses, b) you're letting Anubis unload his whole kit on the tank and not counter-attacking the Anubis while he melts your Tank, or c) you let the Anubis get fed already by not doing a or b earlier in the game...

Bottom-line, you and your team are going to have to adjust what you're doing based on what is going on, including the fact that you're playing against an Anubis. Sometimes your teammates just don't know how to handle it either, and that's just going to happen and it sucks, because you can't control your teammates. However, if this is your attitude:

You won't even get that far because you're still going to be one of those players who refuses to learn and adapt and will continue getting pubstomped by Anubis... Despite other Mages having far more versatile advantages than MOAR DAMGES!

Sure, Anubis has lots of damage, but that by itself doesn't make him OP and when you compare him to other Mages he just falls short, even after the buff. There's a reason Anubis doesn't work so well further up the skill chain in Smite: it's because there are plenty of ways to lock him down and counter him. You just have to learn them, practice them, and do them.

I main anubis and some gods I have struggled against were Janus, Athena, and Neith. Janus can easily put you in a portal and kill you because being immobile and all. Athena will not let you use your 1. She can just easily taunt you out of it, leaving you defenseless and with zero mobility. Neith is just annoying to fight. She can backflip out of all of your damage and poke you from out of range of your 1.

A good Ne Zha will definitely counter Anubis because he has the long-range stun to get the surprise attack on Anubis and if you Ult the Anubis with Ne Zha, he's out of the fight for a few seconds where he can't do anything and likely dead when he lands.

A good He Bo can poke the Anubis and knock him up from a greater range and further slow him with his scroll, but He Bo has similar issues as Anubis as far as not having many CC or escape options, so take that into account.

I'd say other good counters to Anubis would also be:

Athena, who can dash in and taunt him so that he can't use his abilities and gets further pulled out of position

Ravana, who can use his 2 to counter Anubis' stun while getting his root and/or slow on Anubis so he can't get away either

Khepri can use his Ult to ensure that someone will survive even if Anubis Ults to get enough damage on Anubis to kill him

Kali can just counter-Ult Anubis and laugh in his face while she tears his stationary ass to bits while completely invulnerable

Bacchus can drink for extra protections, belly flop to interrupt Anubis, belch to stun him, and make him drunk so he can't walk away

Isis has a longer-range stun, a silence for Anubis' 1, and can counter-Ult Anubis by dropping her ring around her allies and Anubis and pop the heal and big damage right before someone dies or to secure the kill on Anubis

Hou Yi can mark and then stun and/or knockup Anubis to interrupt his 1 or prevent him from getting more damage off, plus his escape move can let him hang in the air for a second to just straight up dodge all of Anubis' damage for a little bit, not to mention when Anubis Ults, just drop Hou Yi Ult over his head and make the Anubis decide whether to take all that damage or cancel his Ult early

Anybody with an Ult that takes them up in the air can counter Anubis Ult to become untargetable, and potentially focus their Ult damage on the stationary Anubis as well.

Plus lots more that I'm not going to list them all off, but make some of those adjustments to try to counter him and just don't let him get a snowball going...

What god doesn't struggle against those three...
Neith is iffy but Janus and Athena specially Athena almost every god struggles against. Janus is a 50/50 thing most gods do and then the other half don't.
