Does hirez only add real gods?

I'm asking this because i have heard of poseidon, or cupid, or some other gods before.
But never heard of ravana, cabrakan, or ISIS before.

If some are invented by hirez, where is my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer god at, huh?

Because Europe wasn't the only place in the world to make up dieties. Plus, while in-game it tells you which pantheon each god is from (and backstory). So there's no reason, aside from trolling, for you to not know the answer to your own question.

the gods are from real mythology. also monsters like scylla and medusa are added in which have godly powers.if you press on a god you can go to LORE and find out a little of his/her backstory. also on ABOUT it tells you from where they are but there is also a flag next to a god that tells you that when you select a god.

They add gods from a variety of different religions world wide, many of them dead and not in practice today.
The reason you probably haven't heard of these gods is because they are from a dead religion that you have little knowledge of
The cool thing is Hi-Rez provides a Lore section about each god that you can read about and learn from.

That's a very interesting philosophical question... How does one actually define a god? If a god or goddess doesn't have worshippers, does he or she exist? How does Hi-Rez know if a god is real?.. XD

don't worry man. most of the gods i haven't even heard of before playing smite.it's understandable for everyone.it's cool that through playing this game you can learn something more of the past tho!still what i don't get is why they add hercules in roman instead of heracles in greek.

amusingly they removed the minotaur, for possibly due to the fact he wasnt a god, but a mythical monster. yet they add in mythical creatures as well- such as scylla or medusa. :p
