Demi gods in game anytime?
Do you think hi rez would ever start putting demi gods in the game? Although they aren't gods, of course they are part god, I'm just thinking it could add quite a lot more characters.

Hercules was a demi god but Zeus made him a god and so he became the god of strength, Rama I didn't know about. So they could add people like Perseus and maybe give him some sort of bonus against Medusa.

Arachne was transformed from a human.

There are also monsters that are not gods, like, Bakasura or Medusa.
Its not only gods, its also mythical deities.

Good point, I suppose they have quite a lot of options.

There are even "normal" humans in smite
Guan Yu for example. He was a general who got worshiped like a god.

Well some chinese people do or did believe Guan Yu to be a god of war but only some so I see what you mean. Obviously in real life he was just a man who fought in the time of the three kingdoms with Liu Bei but like I said some do consider him to be a god eventhough he wasn't.

Right now they have mostly characters considered as deities in their respective religions, but they also have monsters (who were shown to have powers that the gods at least respected), avatars (like Rama, which was a god who had taken on a human life to describe it simplistically), and apotheosized humans who became gods (Hercules and Guan Yu and Ne Zha were not only said to have performed feats rivalling gods during their lives, but then were later worshipped as gods in their own right). Nearly all of the characters added so far have some degree of immortality to them in their lore.

So far they have not included any characters that were simply mortal throughout their entire lore, like Perseus or Achilles or what not, but they conceivably could if they so chose, though I think they might avoid that in order to not "water down" the lore-based power levels too much... They also still have plenty of immortal characters to choose from in all the existing pantheons that they don't really need to dip into mortal demigods if they don't want to.

Of course, there is no set-in-stone criteria, so it's all arbitrary and they can do what they want, so we'll just have to see if we get Perseus or Achilles rather than Atlas or Nike, just as examples.

Many smite characters aren't actual immortal gods, but supernatural humans or divine deities.

Scylla is also just a monster, and a nasty one at that. Interesting that the term 'caught between a rock and a hard place' originates from her.

Rama and Vamana both are demi gods, and hercules p.s every god in game are not god some are monster
I imagine the Greek Warrior coming up this year will be Achilles or Perseus. Not many warriors to go for unless they go for an extremely obscure one, or a titan.

Rama and Vamana are not demigods, they are avatars, which is a very different concept. Demigods in Greek mythology have an immortal parent and therefore sometimes inherit some of their parent's abilities or traits or at least their favor. Avatars in Hindu mythology are immortals who have taken on a mortal form as a human (or sometimes an animal) in order to more directly interact with the mortal world. In this sense, since avatars actually are the immortal/deity's person within a mortal body (like when they stick the guy's brain/consciousness into the blue alien body in the James Cameron movie Avatar) they are much more closely associated with being a god than a demigod ever is.

And Hercules was made an immortal deity at the end of his lore, so he is still an exception to the idea that there are already demigods in the game. Meanwhile Scylla was said in some myths to have been a nymph (immortal water "deity"/creature) before becoming a monster. In my opinion, the characters in Smite that come closest to breaking the whole "immortal/deity" "rule" set up by the "lore backstory" of the game are Medusa and Arachne, since in their myths they were simply mortal women who were punished by the gods and turned into monsters and not really ever claimed as immortal or deified in any way in any of their stories...

Well said.
