The RWBY characters are only skins for the gods already in the game.

The ultimate god pack unlocks all current and future gods in the game and refunds you any favor you spent to unlock gods before you get it. It is the best dlc money can buy.

To get the RWBY skins you have to buy the battle pass for 750 gems and then play for enough time to unlock them in game which can take up to 300 hours honestly. You have about 70 days left to do so from today.

The RWBY skins may or may not be in chests after this battle pass event ends. Do not count on it for at least 1 year. Otherwise a spring fling donation event of about $1,000 per skin will likely be the only way to get them in the future if you do not get them now.

Yes it is FOMO but it is the business model Hi-Rez is going with.
Which from a sales standpoint is dumb because something can not make money if you do not sell it, but Fear Of Missing Out is a legit tactic to get people to buy things and it tends to work more often then not.

If you say you can buy a box of linkin logs they will not care to much but if you include a pink linkin log in boxes only on sale for a limited time then it creates a push in the sales of the product.

However the not selling user only items such as announcer and music packs all the time is baffling as thoes only affect the account using them and they are missing out on sales there. But a pink linkin log you can show off to other people so that is why they are sold that way.

the reason people get upset about it in video games is it being a digital good which is already part of the game to be able to see it used by other players and is in most cases already there just needing to be unlocked with your wallet.

Just buy everything like i did, bought 100k gems or so some days ago, you just need steam money, it's not like you need real money anyway, that's if you know how things really work behind the scenes, otherwise, just open the wallet.

lol... People are playing Smite because of anime skins? I'm just warning you now, Hi-Rez games are all train wrecks. Read the complaints in both Smite and Paladins's comment sections and you'll see what I mean.

ive played smite before RWBY,Im not even a huge RWBY fan,just thought it looked cool.As for paladins its alright,i play it and overwatch so idk. I see what your saying but you shouldnt assume

Sincerely i find smite to be way better than that league of legends game which has tons of players (may be cause of their PC specs, or cause they already had items there when smite launched and they didn't want to lose, or even not knowing smite), but i think smite should advertise more and i think it surely would get a good portion of the players that stills plays those isomeric mobas.

I have nearly 2800 hours on Smite. I have 400 on OW. I alpha tested Paladins. What am I assuming? My comments come from experience. And no, I'm not suggesting LoL or dota. I'm just saying Hi-Rez would rather flood their market with overpriced skins than fix the bugs.
