Are people afraid to play Guardian?
Like, seriously. I get tired of having to play Warrior or Guardian (depending on if it is Assault, ya know?) because no one wants the role. I am getting burned out on Guardian, but I also don't want to play selfishly and just go with others. Some are fun, like Kuzenbo, Ymir and Khumba. But... Why does it seem most teams wanna just shove the Tank role off while still expecting someone to play him? Is it better if I start just being selfish and playing whoever I want or should I find a team to play with? Because, attempting to be nice has me playing one class a lot and it is getting boring and exhausting. Especially in Assault when no one else will be a tank I don't know (like Xing Tian or Cerberus) but they aren't even ranked in the ones they won't trade with me. Am I missing something about Guardians? Maybe I need to check the meta?

It is like earlier, in Assault, I had Skadi, re-rolled for Camazotz. Had a Cupid immediately trade me for him and I was like "Okay, cool, even though I love Cama I love Cupid too". They re-rolled for freaking Cerberus and then the team expected me to take Cerberus because he 'was nice and rerolled Cerb for me and we need a mage'. Like, yeah, thank you so much for taking a character I know and, once again, I am expected to play the Guardian. I feel like this is like Dead by Daylight, when you need to play more selfishly or the community will give you the middle finger.

The community mainly North America has been obsessed with damage and kills for 3 years now in all modes.
Assault people like in other modes want a tank so long as it is not them. I used to have to invent **** like Support Hunter & Assassin just to feel like something sane was going on, got tired of it.

When I started, I would guess about 40% of NA did not hate tanking, now I would say 10% would play a tank on a good day. Now if you see someone taking a Warrior, they have a 85% chance of putting Crit on them and 95% going damage builds. Guardians, either they go Soul Reaver first item or ring builds. Hunters Crit or Ody Bow followed by Crit first items. Lots of people want Mages.

It is not worth it anymore. I felt more like I was playing a survivalist dystopia than a team game.

Assault used to be fun. When I started, people would actually talk to each other and work out who would tank and what someone was building so others would not build the same Aura items, now they just do whatever.

Either find a team or you may have to move on to something else.

I'm just an arena main, but sometimes tanking is just not fun depending on who the other team is playing. I just had a match against a Artio and Sun Wukong. I've never spent so much time stationary. They interrupted my abilities every chance they got. And they would wait to pop the next one as soon as the first one wore off.

Matches like those ^ are why I don't like to tank very often. Then there's your teammates who, if you're playing someone like Khepri or Geb, act like the world revolves around them. And you should save them every single time...

If I'm going to lose that badly, I might as well do so as a character I actually want to play.

Support = Bass. (much skill needed, no one gives a crap about you)
ADC = Singer. (Auto-tune ON... gets all them ladies)

I speak out of my own experience now:

As a Support no matter what you do.....youre the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ one. Missed your Khepri crab ? "FU bad support trash player go uninstal". You go in and start a fight assuming your team joins in: " Nah bruh us farm minions. Also i need to back now purchasing item."

Long story short Support is unthankful. No matter what you do youre ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Wanna go Support ? Go Premade or go home. You really wanna play Support with Randoms ? Well go Warrior then and do your carrys job.

Almost every time i pick support i build support, and i have an absolute trash carry player, who either goes to other lanes, doesn't know how to play, dies constantly by rushing in for no reason and causes me to have twice as many kills as them causing them to be even worse and then blame me for them sucking. I have no idea why i even try support, most people are so bad i actually have a secondary build on all my supports just so i can switch to some extra dps.

I dont mind playing the frontliners on paper, but the main problem is you are kinda at the mercy of your team.

If im a hunter/mage/assassin, there is a decent chance i can carry the sub par parts of the team. If im the tank i can SET UP the damage, but at the end of the day they have to be able to fight.

That is why i dont play tanks for the most part, its far to frustrating.

so just now i went as iza adc. did pretty well early game but messed up my mid to late game. i get blamed for an unexpected gank by the enemy adc in the middle lane which led to the deaths of 2 of my teamates (this was before the first 3 mins). then in the late game i killed one enemy and then another one immediately dies. i retreat as i am low health which made it a 4v3. i go to my purple buff and get blamed cause they kept being really aggressive until the enemy tier 1 as the enemy tier 2 is up which led to their deaths.

Yeah no idea why she is a mage, guardian would have been better. They should have just made her a ranged guardian.

Aphro can melt though

Not sure if covered already, but the issue with guardians is they tend to be more CC heavy with very little damage, they have brunt defense, but lack the sustain that warriors often bring.

Their high CC and low scaling damage, means they are often reliant on team mates to follow up on what they set down. Which can be hit or miss to say the least.

Guardians are the team reliant class in a game that ironically lacks a lot of team work. So much easier to play a damage dealer then be surprised why you are being bull rushed by the enemy team due to no front line.

Have to disagree.

Guardians do not just setup kills, they can also peel attackers off weak allies, lock down enemies off allies killing a target and after some time can dive and objective allowing allies to take that target. Warriors could do the same.

The problem is more the community attitude with more players concerned over their KDA and little else thus resulting in less teamwork.

The game does not lack teamwork, that is a misconception and red herring created to incorrectly justify many incorrect views.
