SMITE

This game isn't very beginner friendly
I can see why this game struggles to gain and keep new players, I love the gameplay, the characters are all cool and fun in their own way and there's a ton to have fun with here.

The issue is for someone like me seeing several smurfs who completely dominate games and groups of 4 players with levels up to 100+ when I'm still below 10 is the reason why I personally struggle to have motivation to keep playing when I can hardly have a normal match at my skill level currently.

Most people here reading this probably have hundreds of hours on the game but please consider how new players like myself feel when this is the experience you have upon trying to learn the game.

Solution is obvious: play bot matches.

I have, the issue is that continuously playing bot games creates bad habits because of how flawed their AI is.

I get the gist of the game, I've played games similar in the past but that's besides the point. I think the new player experience is poor.
Its the problem that killed battlerite, i used to have super hard time on it, then after i got past 50 hours of gameplay, i started beating people that started afterwards as if they were bots cause of the skill gap, which is what was happening to everyone, but most people wont endure that long so they quit.

I think what you meant to write is this GENRE isnt very new player friendly to be fair. I find any MOBA is hard to get into initially and takes time, even then its impossible to not be mismatched because people can play new characters and new builds all the time and one bad one makes the whole team fall apart easily.

♥♥♥♥♥ advice right here
FableNights May 20, 2021 @ 3:12pm
I suggest sticking to Arena for the time being. That mode, overall, is the least punishing if you have a newer player. You can learn how the game functions, die, learn good habits, die, break bad habits that form from being new, die, learn how the gods work, get your first triple kill, die, insta grab beads because CC is a ♥♥♥♥♥, die anyway.

Point is, it's the most newbie friendly mode in the game, its why so many people like it. Dying in Arena doesn't carry the same weight as, say, Conquest. Of course, looking into guides, how gods are built, and other information can certain speed up the learning process.

Will you learn it overnight? Hell no, but with the info out there, you'll have enough to have a good idea after a week's worth of effort.

You won't queue against 30+s if you don't have one in your party, don't dominate people around your level or aren't playing at like 4AM as long as you are under level 30.

The issue is the dev ban people so often on their mains for only a week instead of perma they log into alts and make the new play xp impossible for hi rez to retain any new players. the playerbase killed their own fun in Smite.

This is utterly false. Made a baby account to play with a friend whos brand new and we were put against ppl lvl 100+ in our first match after the bot play ins youre forced into. The playerbase ruined it. Went to smiteguru after I checked a couple ppls lvl's in game. When ppl were lvl 27, they only played Thany Goobis and Pele.. so smurfs who are just toxic and bad at the game... youre utterly wrong.

That's totally why I don't recommand the game to anyone.
Years ago you could see some smurfs, now it's almost one game on two.
It's toxic and people who do that are here to have fun by destroying new players to feel better in their lfie or because they can't reach better levels nothing else.

Yeah sure new players who download the game ofc want to play against bots only it's obvious.
It's toxic for everyone and even for you later. You want to feel confident with a mastery 10 who never plaed against humans before ?

It's not normal a new players has to avoid matchmaking at his own level or simply playing. As usual it's better to ban random people instead of the tocis ones like the smurfs.
Just remove every level 30 below with a kd of 3 then 2,50 and then 2.

Simple.

This is false, although yes some games I've played had no players above 30 (assuming none of them are smurfs).

That being said I've also had games where there's groups of 3 or 4 players partying up with at least 1 if not 2 people at around level 80-120. If you're curious when I made this post I had only played in a duo with my friend who was level 5 at the time and I was level 8.

Yeah I almost forgot that. Years ago it was only one smurf per games. Now you face complete tryhard smurf premade to be sure you won't have fun at best. And don't dare call them smurf or tryhards they will report you for "harassment"
Harassment in Smite = someone said something I don't like

Also the matchmaking is broken since new players are leaving the game so the playerbase shrinking everyday. So don't be surprised if premades plays against every bunch of potatoes the game can find.
You will face one god mastery tryhard camp tower tryhard vs level 20,60,80,you , an afk/feeder guy.
Your winrate will be around 20%
I managed to be stay at 50% because I have some experiences so I play with not so much potatoes but gods every friends who tried the game with me told me the same things.
- In this game accept you already loose the game
- If you start winning the ennemy team will deny yoru fun and victory by surrending
- if your loosing 1-20 kills your team will NEVER surrend and prefer play an entire hour of pain and suffering.

If the only played those 3 gods, whom are very beginner friendly, I doubt they were a smurf lol.

Smite bruh! There's always that one elitist who plays in casual to test their new build. Then gets angry and starts harassing the teammate who isn't playing so well...next thing all teammates start harassing the bad player. Instead of giving advice they harass. Pretty cancer

Harassment is not a problem as long as there is a good ban system.... oh wait
We create a system where by creating a ticket you can ban someone else or being banned for created a ticket because your wrong too (to make people less create ticket by far to being banned too).
If you makes angry a premade enjoy your mass reports as anyone can report everyone for anything and hope it will work.

So if the ban and reprot systems were fine those kinds of players wouldn't be a problem but as everyone is salty on this game everyone know the limit and insults and be toxic but won't cross the line.

Same idea with the "gg wp" guy in chat while in vc discord will insult the ennemy team of many names.

That already exists.
