Sometimes surrendering is legit the way to go.
9/10 times especially in casual games its REALLY obvious 5 minutes in who's gonna win the game. Sometimes it comes back, but that requires you to play it smart, focus on farm, and not take fights you don't have a huge advantage in.

Most people don't want to spend the time doing that with casual games. They'd rather reset and have a fresh go. Ranked I'd agree with you surrender shouldn't be a thing but casual games who cares?

1. i play Multiplayergames to HAVE FUN and NOT Tryharding. if i want to tryhard, i go Ranked.
2. If your History is 70% with stupid Surrender Matches, you will NEVER GET GOOD! And yes, my History is 70% full of Surrenders, also alot of matches where WE had much more Kills and Objectives. But nooo, ppls cryin each other " you are so bad" but how will they learn, huh? They also will NEVER learn from a Surrender
3. Please go to Ranked if you dont want to play with bad players.. i mean, i had 10:7 with Kali, our Solo cryed me so hard i suck, im terrible and he and his mates pressed F6.. bruh.. i DONT KNOW the new Season Jungle Rotation and Stuff, cuz the Map had Changed alot.. and What is? F6 and i DOESNT learned the new Map as Jungler.. GREEAAAT.. what a waste

There should never be a surrender option ever, no throwing moments are ever created.

In an ideal world the surrender feature wouldn't exist because no one would ever have a reason to surrender.

Considering matchmaking isn't perfect, matches can be imbalanced. I have seen horribly balanced matches where one team is farming the other, and considering the amount of threads where people complain about the matchmaking, I'm sure others have too.

So, what happens when one team is so far ahead they are just sitting on the sides of the fountain killing the other players as they spawn, not ending the game? You might say this never happens, or that then you report those players for griefing, etc. The question is, would this happen (or happen more) if people could only leave games if one team won?

That'd be bad because it is (arguably) a bad game experience, people don't play to get farmed in fountain, lol.

Regardless, sometimes the team morale is in the gutter, and the enemy team is really far ahead, and everyone is hopeless. Surrenders here seem fine to me.

So maybe surrenders should require 100% agreement? The issue now is with trolls who know they should surrender but don't.

Heck, in your scenario, you would've voted no to the surrender, and the match would've kept going. If, later in the match, you changed your mind and also thought that surrendering NOW makes sense, then another vote could have been had.

That's all fine. So then, I suppose the question is how many people would troll? How big of an impact would the trolling have?

I know Ymir wall can troll teammates pretty strongly, but I don't see it often (the times I do see it is done more-so as a joke than anything else, interrupting a back rather than walling a teammate to their death etc).

There is always going to be a way for people to interact with their teammates in a griefing manner, stopping it completely won't work, but it can be greatly minimised, and that's the goal.

So, to conclude my TEDTalk, to achieve the best outcome for the game, should surrendering:

1.
Require 100% of the team to agree?

2.
Be changed in a different manner?

3.
Stay as is?

4.
Be totally removed?

having 100% of the team to agree would just lead to trolls feeding and holding their teammate hostage.

personally i would prefer for parties to only get a single vote, meaning if youre the random player and you have a quad que on your team, they cant just insta f6. your opinion matters none. if the party only had 1 vote, the part leader would have to be the voice of the group and any other people playing with a party on their team would have a fair say

Because people troll games. They int, they bm, vgs/emote spam, or they just plain do the wrong thing all the time because they suck. What I do have a problem with, is being held hostage for 20-30 mins in a game like that with people throwing and they keep pressing f7.

There's a difference between losing a good game and losing a bad one. It's not any one person's responsibility to hyper carry one or more people that don't care and throw matches without any regard for anyone else. I don't f6 if I feel we might lose, but I'll sure as anything f6 if people are just plain throwing a match and wasting what time I do have to play......and guess what, almost 10/10 times, the person that f7's, is the one that was throwing to begin with. Just like Zake said, they purposely troll to keep everyone in a losing match because they enjoy their suffering. It has nothing to do with "learning" or "getting better". And if you play enough matches in this game, you wouldn't even be posting this.

I didn't say anything about losing lane. I said getting rolled. And you objectively learn nothing from getting rolled or rolling a game. Stop sitting there thinking you're going to win when every lane lost and you're 10K down. You're not "learning to play form behind" at that point. You're just wasting your own damn time. Learning to play from behind is when you're 2K down, at most, from the person in the same roll as you on the other team. Not when you are collectively 10K down and lost every objective to the other team.

That's not the defense of refusing to surrender that you think it is. It's a testament of how dull you must think your own life is that you'll accept wasting your own time in a foregone situation so long as you're not alone with your own thoughts.

You seem very angry about something.
If you fall behind 10k gold before 10 mins something really wrong must have happend in that game.
Getting rolled Has alot to do with being bad at playing from behind.
You know you wont be so far behind after dying once.
Question is why are you getting rolled?
Did the enemy team Pick a counter to your character? Are they just much better? Or are just just tower diving at lvl 2?
You dont just fall behind while doing everything right.
