Game Crash and Boom Ban

So this is now the third time in two nights that my game has crashed loading into the character selection screen and unfortunately receive I a deserter penalty. I try my best to log back into the game ASAP but no luck. Gameplay is fine, no lag, no crashes, and I genuinely enjoy the game. Its at the the same point every time, loading into the character selection screen, and I report my crash every time.

Now after the third time this happens in two nights I have received a 240 minute deserter penalty which is ridiculous. I just got the season pass last night and was trying to get into this game and this completely shoots it in the foot...

Is this a common thing?

Well stability is not their strong suit, let's just say that.

Unfortunately there could be various reasons.
Your machine setup might cause some issues, I remember people suggestion using the other launcher (to or from x64).

It's also possible that you have some corrupted assets that make you crash, so validate your game data.

You might also experience high loads when entering that screen due to the high amount of models etc. that need to be loaded in. You could try giving the game more resources or monitor them.

Apart from that there's not too much you can do. Support tends to be consistently unhelpful and you'll continue to receive deserters when your game disconnects during a match or lobby which includes crashes.

It's not a very common problem though I remember some time back when I or friends got regular crashes and a while later everything was working fine again... It's mysterious...

Hey cant thank you enough for trying to help. I'm going to try everything you said and ill keep my fingers crossed. Just couldn't believe 240 minutes when it was the first time tonight it hurt lol. Thanks again
