Gem Sale and T5 Cost
Ok, so I have two questions: Firstly, is there going to be a gem sale anytime soon? Secondly, does anyone know how much it would cost to get the new Tf Ullr skin?

I mean in real money, but I did the math (which I guess I could've done before)

You need 98,000 points to unlock the skin, and you get 3,500 points per item. This means you need 28 items to get the skin. I am not going to be including the quests, and I will be using the average odyssey skin price of 500. So you can unlock it for cheaper by doing quests and getting cheaper items. I'm just being lazy.

So, with 28 skins at 500 gems each, that'd be 14,000 gems (once again, you can get unlock it for cheaper, I'm just being lazy). You can buy 14,000 gems with a $100 pack, a $35 pack, and a $25 pack. This adds up to $160 total.

This is a lot of money, especially to spend on skins and microtransactions. I get it, it's a free to play game; I'm not getting mad at Hi-Rez or anything. This is just a lot of money, and it seems a bit hard to justify paying for all of it, especially with the Steam winter sale beginning soon. The skin is supposed to be expensive, a reward for those who purchased many items in the odyssey. It isn't supposed to be accessible to everyone, it's the limited T5 skin. But, if Hi-Rez did a gem sale (it makes gems %50 off, right?), the skin would be $80 total. This is still a lot of money, but I think it would motivate a lot more people to buy the skin, while it still remains rare and valuable.

Don't forget all the small stuff like global emotes, recall skins, etc. etc. that cost cheaper
Along with if you kept around playing and getting them as they came out, there was a discount.

As I said, I was being lazy with my math. I don't know how much you could save, $20 maybe. I just did it to get a rough estimate. You can definitely save some money and get it for cheaper.

There's 8 quest branches, and each have 7 quests within them for 500 points each. So 8 x 7 x 500 = 28,000. So 98,000 - 28,000 = 70,000 worth of points you need fi you've done all the quest. That means now that you only need to purchase 20 items instead of 28 if you've done all the quests. And I'm too lazy to do the gem pricing, so with doing all the quest will give a 28,000 points difference. Dropping 98,000 to 70,000.

the idea is you do the quests and then purchase some from the rest you like. And then get Ullr just as an extra bonus in the end.
Though I agree you would have to buy too many things you may not like at all, which would be plain stupid. This year even more than last due to some less creative skins and 40% higher score needed in the end.
I have reached 52ooo buying things I like and doing quests. It's slightly above the half (1/4 if you consider purchased points) and I don't intend to go crazy just to get that Ullr.

No "Season pass" for a computer game should cost 160$. Plus the Summer events and Adventures it is probably 200+$ in Smite even with all the free ~3000 gems each year.

Y'all - Black Friday sale JUST happened. Come on now. . .

I have 98+ Odd points and I love all the extra exclusives that you get WITH the skin - a new beautiful HUD, jump stamp, level up animation. . .The skins for this years Odd were on point and much better than last year.

But it's xmas and usually xmas is the biggest holiday of the year. so a gem sale would sky rocket sales. If i can get a gem sale ill buy the 8000 gem pack right now.

To get everything in the Odyssey, it will you cost you.... $165
With the cost of every single item (I counted) being 12100 gems, no points from quests (total quest points being 28000 so 98000-28000=70000, which someone else can do the math for that because there are too many item combinations. Doesn't this seem excessive? In my opinion, if there isn't an xmas sale of some kind, i don't think the average player will be able to recieve this skin

yeah, 3rd robotic skin for Ah Muzen Cab was really genius idea :steammocking:
Ganesha, Nike, Artio, Bellona, Vulcan were ok. The rest - not for my money.

Only 4080 gems would have to be bought, assuming all dailies for the year, all non-skins for Odyssey are among your purchases, and all items bought during launch discount. But assuming you missed all "event" gems (partly since too lazy to calculate those, partly to provide buffer for missing a few dailies).

That's probably more like $30-$70 depending onw aht kind of sale you found (Black Friday, which is always a sale, etc). But yeah, if it's a I just got the game last week thing, than yeah it's gonna be well over $100 before gem sales factored in.
