Or Pluto (Hades), or Jupiter (Zeus)... There are a lot they won't do in the Roman and Greek pantheons I guess sicne they kind of already have.
Hi rez do this all the time
we got so many gods of the sun, thunder, death, etc etc etc
so if they decide to make new god with new skills i will not mind
but personally i want so some realy new gods, new pantheons better yet
The problem isn't the thing they are god/goddess of. It is the fact that Roman and Greek dieties are so similar due to the beliefs of the 2 cultures that there isn't much to differentiate them. You could do it with some, but not a lot of them.
It's not that they're similar, it's that the Romans basically conquered the Greeks, and it made more sense to keep the gods/goddesses around. They changed the names of course, so they can be identified as Roman. I think they did this because it would cause less dissent between people, and they were probably already worshipping the same gods/goddesses already, just with different names. If I remember correctly, Janus, is the only Roman God, currently in game, who wasn't Greek to start with.
I could see them actually adding both, because while they are similar to Apollo and Artemis, they are actually a bit different. They're also oddly enough Greek, I mistook them for Roman ones by mistake. I do believe they wouldn't include Helios though, because he's technically a titan.
Because you're thinking of Cronus, who was the titan, Chronos was in fact a primordial deity, much like Nox (Nyx) and Terra (Gaia).
Also, technically yea, I suppose Artemis and Apollo do have domains over the sun/moon- though, playing as one of the main personifications of the sun, or the moon could potentially be hella cool.
