SMITE

the absolute state of EU servers
everyone on both sides had 100+ ping, the entire game played like it was 2000 and after 7 minutes the arena match suddenly ended in a defeat and showed the player disconnected screen

I am in EU, my ping tends to be fine, around 50 at most in most of my games. Might have been that particular server you were on though.
SNEED 19 października 2017 o 12:51
went offline for an hour and it didnt happen again, the same thing happened last weekend too
no brains 19 października 2017 o 12:57
many people in different eu countries experience this problem for a long time
nothing is fixed so far, everything is blamed on these people instead

The servers have never been really good but this is the peak so far

I have got impression most of those problems are reported from middle/south Eastern Europe or deeper Russia regions.
Few weeks ago the whole Romania was offline on Smite for 2 days. And parts of Hungaria too due to how networks are connected there. Some parts of former Yugoslavia were affected too. And may still be. That doesn't mean Hirez servers are worse now. They may have given up some dedicated connections due to costs, but there could be also a dozen other explanations that have nothing to do wit Hirez.

My northern EU ping is stable 50..55 all the time. Last time I had multiple issues with connection was during season 4 start update. Which is 9 months ago. And then 2..3 times when there is something on Status site - like emergency restart, detected instability, update server restart I have missed...
It is really rare. Like once every few months when server really crashes and you get that 1 Favor.

Also I have never got deserter for that, so I'm fine.

you do have cheaper gems in Russia, right? So is your internet ;)

In fact what happend with Romania was something rather specific. Nevertheless it shows how major hub on your route can make your life worse. There are dozens of them when you use internet. You don't have dedicated VIP line from your home to Hirez servers. That's all I'm saying.

So are our wages...

Gems are cheaper only for people from EU/US who buy them through VPN...

Networks rely on connections across the world. So yes, if your particular country has issues with some of those connections, there will be lag, or disconnect issues. That has nothign to do with HiRez.

this excuse can't stand the fact that lol/dota/hots eu servers are in much better state.

just saying - lots of people in different countries have serious connection issues only in this game. they seek help and find excuses instead. they figure that devs don't care about them, and they quit smite in favor of nearby mobas which don't have those problems.

ok, let me be straight. You have no idea about network technologies nor business. Yet you want to discuss it.
LoL has 20+ times the player numbers of Smite. Of course they can and should have more servers, better coverage and sub-region diversity, other stuff. And so can other games by larger companies using synergies from multiple projects or pure size.
The business reality is - if player numbers go down, you have to reduce your capacity as a company too. Servers do cost money and so do guaranteed network access. At first in places which generate least player numbers and cash flow.

I'm not saying Hirez is already doing this, but that's the way it goes.

Also I would guess russian players from St. Petersburg have perfect connection to Smite. While those closer to Siberia or southern regions rather not. It's really simple. Distance, number of connections, bottlenecks. The only thing weird is you not understanding that.

Hirez is free to play. And free to not play. That's how it goes. There is no monthly fee like it was in Eve for a decade. You get as much service as it is possible considering your regional activity and spendings.

Crying about rain won't make you dry. Hirez doesn't owe you anything.

And you have? How did you even define that? Let me be straight, you're a fanboy. 1-1.

Temper, temper. As been pointed above, I'm just saying that leaving game in unplayable state for many people will make them quit the game, nothing more.

From western germany with a stable 200mbits connection, so its not only affecting eastern europeans, though they always tend to be the last ones to load (and the first ones to disconnect too..)

Also you can stick your FREETOPLAY argument up your ass, Ive never seen a company that fails to keep servers free of issues so badly, like people already said, other games that are free to play somehow dont even have nearly as many problems

And you wont get anything from crawling into Hirezs ass posting ITS FREETOPLAY whenever someone complains about something, dont you have anything better to do with your time?

By my experience, "lags with good ping" usually follow long "waiting on game data" screen, in match both teams always report it, so this problem doesn't rely on players location.
RoofCat 20 października 2017 o 14:13
sometimes I think you are just paid to criticise :D

Because seriously I have to struggle to remember ANY DC issues on my account while some of you have them 10 times a day if we can believe reports. Considering we may be using the same servers, that is really hard to explain with bad servers. I seriously do have stable 55ms all the time.

Whatever.
