Stuck on logging in with your credentials...

So recently I tried switching Smite from steam to epic games launcher, because my steam version had connection issues and kept disconnecting me during games, despite having a good internet connection in anything else. The epic games launcher bugged out and showed that I had no game in my library despite adding it several times, so I couldnt even dowload more so play smite via the epic games platform, so I uninstalled it from my pc. When I came back to steam I seem to get stuck on the logging in with your credentials screen. I left it there overnight and nothing moved on. I tried checking my game files and reinstalling the game, but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong or is there some weird bug going on? Please help, ty.
