SMITE
King arthur has ruined casual conquest.
I am a solo main and i used to have fun in solo lane, usually if you had more skill or made better decisions than the enemy player you would win. This all changed when king arthur appeared. I dont know what to do, im at the point of quitting conquest because of a single god. With warriors blessing alone he outclears any matchup and can outbrawl them. Level one he clears your lane with his 2 ability start, he is instantly pushed ahead from this point. From this slight advantage he gets gladiators shield. The game is officially over, i have had 3 man ganks on an arthur while he was tower diving. Yet he simply spun around knocked people up and killed 2 and walked away with over half health. I dont know how to counter him, ive tried outclearing him and just denying his push. The issue is he heals so much and pokes so much he can completely ignore wave AND tower to get a kill. I have played better than atleast 60% of the arthurs ive faced and managed to gain dominance early game. Once he gets gladiators shield he never runs out of hp. I just faced an arthur that just spun into me ignored my wave spammed laugh over and over kept using abilities and randomly ulted when i was at 80% hp. I lost lane 2-0. I played the safest i possibly could and cleared wave and stayed in tower but he still manages to win over time.
Any tips? Just please give me something this single character has ruined solo lane which used to be a very enjoyable experience for the most part.

I feel your pain mate, Arthur with an early glad shield is brutal. However there are ways of shutting him down, my advice would be taking a character that can out sustain him, such as Hercules or Chaac. Both can dominate the Solo lane. Imo it is only characters with a silence or Artio that really can shut Hercules down.

Also, anti heal! People seldom buy anti heal for lifesteal/minor heals. But they all add up.

Artio might be a good choice too. An aoe cripple could help with his many dashes (not sure if his 2 is affected by this though).

Play king arthur

I really hate Arthur in solo too. I fell back in love with playing solo after Osiris got his buffs in 6.1 but I still can't seem to fight this one god! I will try stuff like silences and anti-heal in my next matches against him. Thanks for the advice mate! Glad I'm not alone.

Arthur wins lane easily, but it absolutely nonexistent late-game. Thats the trade-off.

BTW, countering Arthur is easy.
1) Don't overextend and only engage him when you are near your tower. Arthur deals sustained damage over time, and in most cases can win a 1v1 fight if he exhausts his entire kit from both stances. If you are getting killed by him, then it must be due to your lack of respect for his damage.

2) Gank Arthur in lane. Any jungler can easily chasedown, and with your help, cc lock Arthur into oblivion.

Play Chaac.
Thanks for the advice. My current strategy is just sit in tower clear wave until late game. I really cant find anything else that works, this strategy usually leaves me slightly behind but allows me to make a presence in late game.

Go proxy his wave behind tier 2 or one of the other lanes waves hint chances are really high there is not gonna be anyone near their phoenix's during early game times of the match, and most likely no ward coverage as well. So take that instead.. While no one there. Before they can react to what you are doing it you will of already gotten it and be off to the next thing. Make him come to to you draw him out of lane.Go help out the other lanes his push is not the best and will take a while just be a distraction If he has to chase you around the map to get the kill on you that is time he is not farming. Gank duo or mid as well when you can as you deny enemy jungles back and mid camps to keep up a pace while you proxy.

LMFAO!!!

TC is asking for advice not to get overwhelmed by Arthur, not feed. With Arthur, you need to accept that he will win lane and every 1v1, and that if there is a considerable distance between you and your tower, he will do a crap ton of damage. Proxy farming will get you heavily punished by Arthur, and most likely killed if anyone on his team rotates.

The best advice is to adopt the same strategy as solo Loki players; stay under tower, use abilities, and auto when necessary. You don't lose that much gold and exp from the tower hitting minions. Trust me, I frequently have, matches when each wave gets pushed under my opponent's tower, and at most I get 2 levels ahead.

That was advice. The main trouble with their current strat is they are not using their tower they are babysitting an objective that will be taken mid game if it was babysat or not. Early game towers are still a threat to the enemy Arthur's tower push is not that great and the tower can take a few waves on it's own. If you are just defending the tower early and having it enter the mid game at full hp it is a waste of the towers effectiveness. Have you not hear the term "No one go defend the tower it needs to learn to defend it's self.'? Well it can. Come mid game the enemy can just take it whenever they want to then without taking into account the hp the tower has left. So use it early as a time buffer while you go off to do other things since you can get teleport you can just come back to your tower when you need to.

Trying to 1v1 Arthur is not a good idea and you may want to highly consider these are other options. Granted what I suggested may mean you have to grow a pair, but it can work a lot in lower skilled games where enemy communication and map awareness is not that high.

This also will cause massive distractions and a massive waste of the enemy teams time. Even if it is just your enemy's solo lane you are proxy farming anyone coming to get you is going so far out of their way to do it that they are not getting farm and gold during their route to you and quite possibly to their route back to normal after you teleport away should it get that bad. If Arthur wants to chase after you himself then just start the Benny Hill music and ask your jungle for assistance as you lead him into a choke point.

Now that is not to say do not defend the tower at all but there are other things that can be done.

On a similar vein, rather than proxy waves, invade their speed. It doesn't matter if you get XP from it or not, as long as you can waste the enemy mid and jungle's time to put your ahead (ideally 30+ seconds if possible). If you can teleport out, then great, if not, you can teleport to lane after a quick respawn.

I don't think DM's strat should be used against Arthur. I tried it myself against Arthur yesterday as a SWK and it put him 1/2 or 1 level ahead maybe but with the amount of pressure he has, he just stole my blue on cooldown which put me behind. Maybe the fact that we had a jormungandr jungle had to do something with it coz even when ahead jorm jungle may not be that impactful but Arthur was always 1 level ahead of me. And even if it was a standard jungle, I don't think Arthur will be bothered anyway, he can easily survive ganks if he is ahead. I think it should be done when you are playing high pressure warriors yourself because Arthur doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about towers, he will dive tower, ult you, kill you or if he doesn't get the kill he can always dash out. being behind against Arthur sucks a lot, you can't do anything, the least you can do against Arthur, I think, is not to lose gold and it's not possible if you are going for a lvl 1 invade.

Guys, stop making things unnecessarily difficult.

Hide under tower and stall until you can clear a wave with 1 or 2 abilities (usually around level 7). Do not fight him, let him roam, call missing, and alert your jungler to rotate when he tries to invade blue. Its as simple as that.

Falling behind a level or 2 is inconsequential when Arthur's teamfight capabilities are garbage and rotations in general are weaker in S5 (especially if you ward). SMITE isn't a complicated MOBA; the devs went out their way to eliminate decision making, or rather give players a lot of leniency.

If you are really committed towards laning against him, then early game, position yourself so that Arthur has to choose between hitting you or your minion wave with his blue/red 1, which is his main damaging tool. Arthur's abilities have either short range (his dashes and red 1) or short width (blue 1); take advantage of that. Most Arthur players will elect to use their abilities on you, which is fine because then he will lack the tools to clear the wave for more than 10 seconds giving you time to push your wave. Buy pots to sustain longer. If Arthur elects to clear the wave before hitting you....PUNISH him; anytime that his blue 1 is not up, you should be aggroing the hell out of him even if it means that you ignore his minions.

You need to get to late imo. He falls off hard.

Play safe. If you cant put pressure on him, you inform your team "Arthur is outpressuring me, I'm going to focus on staying alive". Then they know you're not going to be able to help them and play accordingly. From there your main concern is to keep your tower and yourself alive. Just clear and play safe, dont even try to fight fair. If he starts freezing lane, ask for assistance from Jungler, tell the jungler Arthur is lane freezing and you need the jungler just to show his face so Arthur backs off and you can clear.

Solo lane isn't about constant brawling, its about clearing and pressuring the enemy by clearing faster, some solo lane gods dont even try to fight, they just clear and back off. They're chosen for solo because they stay alive by themselves even under heavy pressure and later in the game add a lot of utility, frontline presence and teamfight ability for the whole team.

Playing from behind is relatively simple since you only focus on clearing and NOT DYING. the only occasion where you absolutely need the help of your team is if the enemy is freezing the lane. Otherwise you're expected to stay alive all by yourself for long periods of time, thats why its called the Solo lane. Solo laners whining how "Junglers aren't helping me kill the enemy solo laner" don't understand their own role in the solo lane. Its not Junglers job to make sure you stay alive in Solo, its your job. They can help but you have to learn to play without them if necessary.

TL;DR focus on staying alive and clearing. As long as you don't feed, its not the end of the world if you get outpressured. Unless you play Arthur of course, then youre screwed because your teamfighting sucks.
