NeZha tips
I kinda wanted to learn how to play NeZha as his kit looks fun, but I've been having little success. I mainly play guardian/warrior, so going from a big support tank/disruptor to a squishy fast god is a huge shift in playstyle.

For starters, what items should I build? I tried looking at guides and a lot of them seem conflicting. Due to NeZha's sash and crit-buff I'm assuming I should build relatively tanky for an assassin, but I'm not really sure.

I'm also not sure how to play in teamfights. Am I the initiator with my sash stun, or am I a cleanup like a lot of assassins?

your ult is very powerful to remove somebody very annoying from a teamfight for a few sec. Like zhong kui for example during his ult. So he wastes most of it. Or just instakill squishy with crits.
And your ring toss is great for poke.

I wouldn't pick Ne zha and then build as a tank. There are much better assassins for that. Keep him high damage, play like an assassin.

My go to build (order and specific items may change a little for certain team comps);
- Warrior Tabi
- Jotuns/Crusher
- Malice
- Deathbringer
- Crusher/Jotuns

Last item being situational, likely Brawlers for antiheal. If I am ahead, I may get Transendence early on (before or after Malice). Could get Hydra's/Heartseeker at the end too. Or just get some defence (Magi's Cloak, or Void Shield for instance).

I wouldn't build tanky. You typically want attack speed and penetration for crit builds. However, Ne Zha doesn't need attack speed as his ultimate crits, as does his 3, plus his 2 has built in attack speed if needed. So, crit and penetration items are good choices (don't bother with the Shuriken tree though).

You can either initiate with a blink/Sash + ultimate, or follow up on your frontline's initiation.
Generally, after ulting you are vulnerable, as people can easily hit you when timed well. A way to avoid this, is to ult from further away, as you'll jump back to where you casted from (and most people will still attack where you connected anyway). If you still have Sash up, you can always try to use it to avoid some damage after landing, or re-engage after finishing the ultimate.

A great way to cover a lot of ground is to blink, ult, then sash someone (the ult being used to close the distance). That is only recommended if you KNOW you can kill without the ultimate, and won't need it to get back out. It does catch people by surprise (try it in jungle practice to see the distance you can get), but likely won't usually be worth it.

As for team fights, you probably don't want to spend too much time in one. Use your ring for some speed + damage, and if you see an opportunity, blink in and ult/sash. If the enemy team has beads, you can change when you ult each time so they may waste beads (don't always sash and ult, wait a second before ulting sometimes, or ult without the sash).

Another way to engage in a fight vs multiple people, is to sash 1 person, but ult someone else. You might sash the Hunter - which will often make them use Beads - but ult their Mage instead.

His ultimate also isn't CC immune. There is a brief immunity frame, but chances are you won't be able to use it reliably.
