https://prnt.sc/manjqy Heres, a Screenshot this is not the first time it happens to me, its every 1 or so updates.
The "problem" is the steam-version of the game. When you use the Launcher of HiRez you just download the patch (590MB) while steam have to re-download the whole game
don't ask me why, but thats the fact ... hope I could help you a little bit
Zhaeph in this very thread has a screenshot showing a Steam download of about 550mb.
Other people have mentioned this on Reddit, so you aren't alone. Someone suggested it may have been downloading the Texture pack?
My update on the non-Steam version was roughly 500mb, so I'm not sure why people are getting different sizes if it isn't the texture pack or some corrupted files.
I cannot get really fast internet so that was the best short term solution so I could play that day, then I reinstalled the texture pack overnight.
Im not home yet so I can't say for sure but with a large disparity in download sizes I assume that it is the issue. It seems that steam wants to download all the high-quality textures in whole every large patch whereas the hirez launcher only downloads the new files
*edit sorry 549.9MB not 700MB
Yes, likely the HD texture pack as stated previously, and by others on reddit. Might be worth checking that.
That might not be it, but it's the only explanation I can think of as to why it happens for some people and not others (Steam client or not).
